There’s no question this would have been a win for Reid and the Democrats. Therefore, it’s intellectually dishonest to contend (as Jeff has) that its failure to pass is not a loss for them.

The MSM was IMMEDIATELY pronouncing the headline "Senate blocks Bush's immigration bill" mere moments after the vote. Regardless of who was for or against it, this will be spun as a loss for Bush. Had it passed, it would have been hailed as a great victory for the new Democrat-controlled Congress. Up is down... DO NOT forget that many of the sheeple believe what the MSM feeds them, and that will ALWAYS be slanted against the President.

Bush was and is DEAD WRONG on immigration, as are many of the Dems. Win or lose, right or wrong, Bush is always wrong though, and the Dems always right, in the MSM's eyes.

On the upside, this gives FDT the perfect issue on which to distance himself from Bush. It's very public, stirred up a HUGE grassroots movement by the base, and has nothing to do with policy on Iraq.

Yep. "Being a democrat means never having to say you're sorry."

There’s no use bickering over who lost biggest; this was a setback for Bush/Rove/Cheney, BigBiz RINOs, globalyst NWOs, AND the Reid/Kennedy Dems alike, no matter how each tries to spin it.
This was the ultimate crossover issue on which a majority of Americans agreed, it galvanized the right, left, and middle beyond liberal/conservative characterizations because it was recognized as a matter of survival, and because it was recognized as being pushed for the basest of reasons, POWER.
We need to keep the energy alive and keep the floodlights on those responsible. Expect retaliation, both overt and covert, from those in power in response to the failure of their shamnesty. We need to keep this energy alive and keep the floodlights on those responsible. We need to keep putting the elite on the hotseat over this, corruption, and how they are spending public funds. We need to support the few heroes who rose from this mess and championed our cause, with our support they can continue to be champions.
Keep using the emails and phones to insist on enforcement and arrest for lawbreakers who hire illegals. Dry up the illegal jobs and handouts, and watch the flow of illegals dry up with it.
