Here we are again my friends, hopefully for the last debate thread on this particular monstrous legislation. Proceedings are supposed to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST, with the cloture vote being taken at 10:30 a.m.
On a personal note, you've all been wonderful in your passion, vigilance, and commitment to the principles on which our country was founded. If I have to be in a foxhole, I want to be in it with you guys.
praying hard here for that!!!
YEEEEEHAAAA! 'Bout time!
Brownback switched his vote from Yes to NO after the cloture motion failed.
Way to show some leadership and backbone Presidential candidate Brownback! </sarc off
With the one senator out for his health (I’m sorry I don’t remember his name), 40 No votes (or not voting) would kill it.
WOW....Voinovich just voted NO.
Am I mistaken on this or what??....I believe this is just a vote on whether to stop debate on the bill....not whether to pass it or not.
If they vote “no”, that just means they want more debate, not that they don’t want to pass it. If they vote “yes”, that just means they are done with the debate and now want an up or down vote on the bill.
Is that what this is or am I just horribly ignorant?

Amen. Thank you Lord and God Bless Free Republic.
“IT OVER 40!!!!!!!”
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!
The Wyoming Senator was replaced by a guy named Barasso. He voted “no” on cloture. Good start!
Bond from MO voted NO
Now he can go after Rush and Sean...
that’s great, thanks all for counting
Voinovich NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what about lott is he waiting to be last?
voinovich no!!!!
Did Pres Bush actually say that if the bill doesn’t pass then there’s no money for the fence? Now, was the money already appropriated last year or not? If he really did make this implied threat I don’t think this should pass unchallenged.
46 aye
Voinibitch caved with a “NO”. I guess he CAN be intimidated after all, not wanting to be one of the few that votes “aye”.
You’re still dead meat.
Rassmussen said it clear..... the elected are not nearly as important as they think they are..........
WE HAVE SPOKEN and have to KEEP SPEAKING ON ALL ISSUES.
WE WON!
