Video from the popular internet web site YouTube that was posted by one of six people arrested for skateboarding in downtown hot springs is causing quiet a stir.
Hot Springs police say the skateboarders were in violation of a city ordinance. Now three minors and three adults are facing charges, and the officer who arrested them is on administrative leave.

(Matt McCormack, Arrested for Skateboarding) "He grabbed a kid from around his back by the neck and took him to the ground and choked him."
(Skylar Nalls, Arrested for Skateboarding) "The kid didn't know that he was coming after him. He kind of just grabbed him from behind and took him to the ground and started choking him."

It’s good when Little Brother watches Big Brother.
Used to see those all over. Now it is a crime apparently :(
A neighboring city here put in a real nice skatepark a short time back. There’s no charge, the kids like it and it keeps them off private property. Maybe more communities should look at doing that.
Good. I hate skateboarders. Beat them up and cut their stringy hair.
And get them to pull up their pants.
:^)
Perhaps that’s the only way to restrain the criminal.
I’m so tired of law enforcement being nit picked while those they pursue have committed violent crimes and murders and when apprehended their supposed to put on the white gloves. It’s ridiculous.

Who cares!

I hope that I’m never wrestled to the ground because of breaking some victim-less crime, for example, not wearing a seat belt.
Okay, I can see writing the skateboarders a ticket and having them show up to Court to pay a fine, but this officer’s actions seem overly aggressive.
If you want to get off, why don't you get some free kittens and shoot them with your Taser?
Officer Stupid
so much for a free America
have you always been this charming, or just since the colonoscopy ? (no, an answer isnt needed gramps)
With any luck this cop will soon be looking for an honest job.
Where I used to work the skateboarders would come to the parking lot and move the cement parking backstops around to lay out ramps to suit them. We would have to put them back after they were gone. One day I went out there while they were in the lot, seized one of their boards, and told them to get lost. Told the kid if he wanted his board back, send his parents after it. A while later a cop showed up and I told him about the constant trespassing, rearranging the parking lot, and us getting repeatedly told to f*ck off, eat sh*t and die, etc. He gave the board back to the one kid and told all of them if he caught them in the lot again they were going to get arrested for trespassing and property damage. We never saw the punks again.
When skateboarders trespass, damage property by sliding down handrails, break and damage things by jumping on and off them, and rearrange other people’s property to suit themselves they are committing crimes.
Until they get hurt and their parents sue the city.
When I can legally put a bullet between the eyes of someone breaking into my shed, I’ll support this cop.
It’s a good thing the skateboarders weren’t illegals, or you would probably have had to build their ramps for them:

I seem to remember disclaimer signs posted there which said, in effect, if you skate here, you’re on your own. Don’t know how well that’s worked out, though.
Well then, don’t disobey a police order and then try to flee from the cops...you will be chased down until captured.
I'd like to see the entire episode, not just the edited version, before I pass judgment.
