Thompson to Announce Next Tuesday here in Nashville.
WSMV Television 4 - Nashville, TN ^ | 6-22-07 | VideoDoctor

Fred Thompson is set to announce that Nashville will be the home of his national campaign headquarters, WSMV is reporting.

A source close to the campaign planning tells WSMV that that Thompson planned to announce his candidacy on the steps of the historic Fall School Building Tuesday, but Thompson campaign officials deny that Tuesday's announcement is an official run for the White House.

Yeah, I saw your other post, too. I think you’re right. It’ll be good to see, for sure.

I hope this isn’t one of those false start things where the candidate says he’s going to make a big announcement and it turns out to be an announcement stating that he isn’t announcing yet.

A source says he will announce. The campaign says it won't. The media is making it a "big announcement," mot the candidate.

I don’t think he is going to make a formal announcement for a couple of weeks. It is because of campaign fund reporting rules or something. I don’t care about the details, obviously. I am waiting patiently, sort of. I feel that Fred will sweep the nation like Reagan did. But, that isn’t to say he is Reagan, Fred is definitly his own person.

I don’t know what OCD is, but I imagine it’s “over” something.

Sorry I completely forgot to 'splain what OCD stands for.

It's Obsessive Compulsive Dis"uh"rder...

So you did come close, it is "over" counting in your case!

I think there are two reasons why Fred Thompson is so popular here and in other conservative forums: 1. The activists are attracted by what they think he will stand for and do, compared to the other candidates, and 2. if his campaign proves to be successful, the more chance the American people have of getting some sanity back in the political process.

Just think, if he is nominated, without all the spending and early campaigning, maybe we can move the primaries back to a sensible campaign season.

So far he hasn't spent a penny, and yet he's climbing in the polls. Of course, there hasn't been an actual vote yet, so concrete results be different. Let's hope he doesn't disappoint his supporters by turning out to be human with a range of views and positions that differ from theirs, after all the build-up.

Your disrespect and sourness shows through in your comments despite your attempts to disguise it as humor.

Sunday, July 15, is the date of the next quarterly campaign finance report,

I was thinking July 1. Not disputing you, you may be entirely correct, I just hadn't read that before.

July 15 is the reporting deadline, according to the FEC site, but I now realize July 1 is probably the actual beginning of the quarterly reporting period. You aren’t the first to mention that, so I think you’re right.

Thus I think it’ll be the first week of July... just like everyone else has been saying for a month.
