Mosul, Iraq (AINA) -- An unidentified armed group kidnapped eight Assyrian Christian students and teachers returning home to the Nineveh Plain from Mosul university Wednesday afternoon. The students of the Nineveh Plains travel on church provided community buses that transport them daily to school. One of the buses returning to Qaraqosh (Bakhdeda), one of the largest Assyrian Christian towns in the Nineveh Plain, was pursued by eight vehicles that surrounded and eventually stopped it. Eight people, among them a number of University professors, were taken to an unknown location. It is noteworthy that the abduction took place directly in front of a police stations as several eyewitnesses stated.
This came one day after another Qaraqosh native was killed in Mosul by an armed group.
Ping
Thanks for the ping.
We both know it, so I will not repeat the rop stuff.
bump
I hear you...but it bears repeating so that some of the head in the head crowd finally get it.
Rushdie..did..it!
I think “they” are trying but in the face of Muslims it’s difficult. Just ask the survivors of the Christian holocaust in Turkey. The west knew it was happening but nothing was done to help them.
Of course those who want to leave are doing so...but they are the original inhabitants of the area...they were there long before the Arabs/Turks muslims swept through.
One of the longest surviving Christian ethnic groups in the world.

head in the head
post 5-—that was supposed to be “head in the sand” crowd...
That's not correct. Unlike the Jewish Holocaust in WW2, the murder of Armenians was extensively covered by the Entente and especially the US press in WW1. There were also fund-raisings in the USA to aid the Christians in the Ottoman Empire.
Of course you are right.
Relief agencies and newspaper reports were abundant.
BUT - and this is a tragic exception - nothing was done to save the Christians...apart from a very few.
Thanks for the link.
.
CAIR has just issued a press release denouncing the treatment of Christians in Muslim countries. /sarcasm
If this wacky government offers asylum to Sunni or Shiite Iraqis while it continues to ignore the plight of Iraqi and other Christian Arabs, I will be even more infuriated with it than I am already - if that’s possible.
The U.S. should have an “Open Door Policy” for Christians and other non-Muslims felling Islamic persecution.
As for Muslims themselves - tough. They have only their own wacky cult to blame.
I do not know what the State dept policy is on the Iraqi Christians, but this Coptic Christian from Egypt faces deportation! Can you believe it!

Thanks for that link - I will contact my congresscrittters.
Its outrageous that there is more concern about these lunatics mudering other Muslims from other sects than there is about Muslims persecuting non-Muslims.
At teh same time this is going on, Jorge El Segundo is ignoring this situation so he can pander to the Mexican Government.
This guy would have been better off learning Spanish, going to Mexico and sneaking across the southern border than seeking legitimate political asylum from a government which has made a career of pandering to Muslims and Islamic states and ignoring Islamic perseuction of non-Muslims - EVEN AFTER the 9-11 wake up call.
