Mayor Michael Bloonberg has announced that he is leaving the Republican Party, and will continue his Mayoralty as an Independent.
You sound like a communist.
Since when is being rich a bad thing in a capitalist country?
Fixed it.
Best news I’ve heard all day. He had the money to win the GOP nomination, but no conservative in his or her right mind would have voted for him. And the RINOs would have voted for a real Dem, because Bloomy is not an attractive person and is zero in the charisma department.
And take A(R)nold too!
Update. Not Independent. Unaffiliated.
I don’t see how a Bloomberg run could possibly hurt any Republican candidate. I think it could only help, and he’s one of very few people who could finance his own campaign. How many billions is he worth?
**slaps side of head** That wouldn’t be Unity ‘08 anymore then, would it? **D’OH!**
It's the only way the PTB can get Hillary in. I've been waiting for this one. It was as predictable as the sunrise.
NOTHING SHOCKING... THE REPUBLICAN PARTY MUST BE TOO FAR RIGHT TO A RAT LIKE BLOOMBERG.
Now if only Algore would run on the Green ticket, we would have it locked.
Thank you bloomy, you idiot! You were a disgrace to the GOP. One down, but lots of RINOS left to go!!
It won't do him any good to run for prez, but let the arrogant fool waste his money. He has messed with gun owners and we will defeat him!!
I wonder if we could convince him to change citizenship.
Oh My!
Rich people in the US all immediately turn into Socialists if not downright Marxists. I’ve never understood why this is the case. But look at people like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, etc., and you’ll see that they support leftist causes straight down the line.
**Maybe he will take the big-business country-club Republicans with him.**
We can only wish.
Bloomberg was a card carrying Democrat in New York who couldn’t get on the party’s ticket so he bought the Republican side and ran with his money. He’ll siphon more from Hillary the B**ch than he will from any Republican. Bloomberg has no national base and not a prayer with a conservative.
No, I think he’s a John Anderson, 1980 model.
Not necessarily. He is definitely a liberal. The areas of the country that he will gain support from would be the northeast and possibly liberal pockets in the west, like San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle. He will have little or no support from the south and fly over country.
He just might grab more votes from the Dim than the Republican candidate.
Keep in mind that the last few elections, be they national or statewide, have been decided by just a few percentage points. Bloomers only needs to pull a few percentage points more of Dims then Republicans to completely screw up the election for Dims.
> Maybe he will take the big-business country-club Republicans with him.
I hope so. Then they’ll take the cheap labor amnestistas.
When was he a republican? Oh yes! When it was convenient to him.
I don’t know about that.
The MSM will trumpet the “former Republican” line enough that a few moderate Pubbies dissatisfied with the nominee just might vote for him.
