There is no body
It ends with the Soprano family sitting in a diner all eating onion rings! REALLY!!!
Absolutely nothing happened. Tony, wife and loser son were at a dinner table with a bad Journey song playing waiting to order dinner with a bunch of suspicious types lurking around. Meadow can’t drive. When she finally parallel parked and walked in the diner (an ice cream shop), the door dinged and the screen went black. Boooooooooooooo!
You know, for months now people have been telling Chase how to end the series, and how he owed everyone a clear finish. I think this was Chase telling the world to go hang, that he didn’t owe anyone anything.
Journey - Don’t Stop Believing - Tony played it on the Diner jukebox
What a letdown. Seems to me the writers just ran out of ideas. Oh well, at least it wasn't as bad as the 'Seinfeld' final episode...
“The screen just went blank as if your TVd gone off the air, like it was turned off.”
We’ve been having T-storms all night, and I thought the blank screen at the end was the cable going from the storm.

Its just a TV show. Final episodes always stink.

Nah. “Six Feet Under” was mostly an annoying liberal whinefest, but the “fast forward” finale was cool and fitting.
The “Gilligan’s Island” final episode was the best — when Gilligan nutted up and wasted the castaways one by one. Best ending ever.
No, Meadow wasn’t through the door yet.
aGREE!!!
TOTALLY AWESOME ENDING!
How else could it have ended? so great...
‘’The screen just went blank as if your TVd gone off the air, like it was turned off.’’.................After they all get stuffed on ‘’ONION RINGS’’! WTF?!!
Tony always struck me as a Steve Perry fan.
seven years and 80 some episodes invested then this crap
Well, there was the cat Tony picked up at the safe house, that spent a lot of time staring at Christopher’s picture on the wall, which spooked Paulie. Then there was Janice trying to hit up Uncle Junior for money, but he didn’t recognize her and he didn’t have his teeth in. Then AJ’s car caught on fire just as he was getting it on with his girlfriend in the SUV, then he wants to join the Army (as if they’d take him!) to fight in Afghanistan and pilot helicopters for Donald Trump. Then the FBI guy was sleeping with an FBI gal, and he feeds Tony some info on Phil. Then Phil gets shot right in front of his wife with his grandsons in the SUV, then the SUV rolls over his head. Then they’re listening to Journey in the restaurant, and you think the trucker has come to whack Tony, then you think the guy who walked in behind AJ has come to whack Tony, then you think something is going to happen to Meadow, and then right in the middle of the chorus of “Don’t Stop Believin’”, the screen goes blank, “Don’t Stop———”.
And that’s about it, really.
Great brilliant ending!
another Chase turn....Just flipping the paradigms!!
Right. What a let down.
I disagree. I thought it was a perfect ending...
The guy that went into the bathroom was a hitman. Remember when Bobby and Tony were talking about that you never hear the one coming to get you? The series goes black as Tony dies. He never saw it coming. The whole series WAS Tony. With him dead.... all black.
I think those guys were going to pinch Tony because the indictments had already gone down. If a movie, or god forbid the series continues, that is where they will pick up.
That may be true but Chase said he’s known what the ending was going to be for 3 years.
The Soprano family was arrested and put on trial for failing to come to a fat guy's assistance after he was made fun of.
No, wait, they all went to a talent agent's office and told him they have a family act...called The Aristocrats!
No, wait...actually, nothing happened.
