This is the homestretch.
Call and e-mail your senators today, Republicans and Democrats, urging them not to table debate on this critical piece of legislation.
It deserves a fair and open debate of all ramifications. To do otherwise is unamerican.
Ask them to vote "NO" on cloture.
Keep bumping this to the top.
Today is the day.
Bernie is probably pandering to his labor donors, but he's right.
Especially, when they vote against the Cornyn amendment which would have disqualified criminals who stole identities (to get a job) and ignored deportation orders from citizenship. We just gotta let these criminals gain citizenship?! What's the point of the background checks?!
Yeah - the rats will help you out.
The Senate refused at midday to shut off debate on the immigration overhaul bill and move toward a vote, leaving the fate of the legislation uncertain and setting up another, all-important procedural vote this evening.
The move to end debate was rejected by 63 to 33, so the bills backers fell 27 votes short of the 60 needed to invoke what is known as cloture and set up a yes-or-no vote on the legislation itself.
...The important part
bills backers fell 27 votes short
BUMP!
Woo Hoo!
I had to call the number 3 times today to get Alexander (TN). It kept going over to Corker.
When I finally got Alexander’s office I told the woman to enforce current amnesty laws and build the fence or I would spend every waking hour doing everything humanly possible to see that he loses his office.
With all my other daily calls to his office that simply stated “kill S 1368 NOW”, they have just said, “Thank you, I’ll give Mr. Alexander your message.” This time they asked for my name and address which I was more than glad to give them. She asked me to repeat my last name. I think she was a bit surprised that it was hispanic. LOL
Call (888) 534-6226 and ask for any member of the Senate or House...
Alexander had me worried but hes voted right on all the Amensments and cloture votes...
great graphic! Unfortunately, all too true.
oops. That was supposed to say S. 1348
Thanks, I’m calling all those that didn’t vote correctly today with your number.
Youre most welcome...
:)
I can’t get anybody to answer that number. It just rings and rings...
Nevermind... just have to let it ring 40 times. I guess they’re busy. LOL
I called Lugar... now on to Kyl...
Call Sessions and thank him for his leadership in this issue...
Posted this on another thread as well. Funny story. Called Isakson’s office on Tuesday. Told woman who answered I wanted to voice my opinion on an issue. She said, well ma’am, I’d be glad to pass that along to the senator. But I HAVEN’T SAID A WORD YET, I replied! So you’re calling to oppose the immigration bill was her next question. I just laughed and said, why would say that? She laughed as well and we politely hung up.
They are getting the message!
Self ping to #17 for phone number
