Not that I’m doubting the photo, but don’t US troops have an American flag on their left arms? Could this be a coalition soldier?

I am looking at an image of my cousin in Iraq and he has a different patch on the left shoulder but the same carbine in his hand. Flag on right shoulder, stars on right incidentally.

You killed the whole concept with the first photo. The second one was the hook. It alone should’ve been displayed.

The first one says it all, actually: the kid's face shows he is scared to death, and he's running to the safest spot he can find: the person of this large American soldier.

It would be difficult to stage a picture that provides a more potent metaphor for the role played by United States in this wretched world.
