Thompson In
If you believe this report and we do former Sen. Fred Thompson will indeed throw his hat in the ring for president of the United States. As many readers of the GOPNation.com know, we endorsed Thompson, believing he is the best candidate at the right time to maintain the White House for the GOP. An Thompson entry would shake up the Republican primary process almost immediately and in our opinion, cause one or two GOP candidates to withdrawel from the race before the end of summer. Stay tuned.
Gingrich Getting Closer
Meanwhile, it looks like former GOP Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is getting ever closer to his own race for the presidency. In what can only be described as the must-read story of this early week, the New Yorkers Jeffrey Goldberg paints a GOP in turmoil with its leaders (including Gingrich) at each others throats over the partys losses in 2006 and dwindling chances in 2008. Expect lots of Rove bashing in this piece.
Zoellick at World Bank
President Bush is expected to name deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick to head the World Bank. Zoellick would replace the disgraced Paul Wolfowitz who resigned last week. Hmm, another Bush crony in another plum position. Yeah, that will work out.
Did you hear?
The mainstream press didnt tell you but we will: gas prices have started to fall, thanks in part to higher inventories and of course, the passage of Memorial Day. Todays average stands at 3.197/gallon down 3 cents from the high set on May 24. Dont worry, any Fourth of July increase will surely be reported as a price surge by the press, no matter how much the prices fall between now and then.
Drudge Headline of the Day
Gotta love this: I Saw The Climate Change, describing Nancy Pelosis reaction to her recent trip to Greenland. Classic liberalism.

If so, Gore will be embarrassed into hiding by the landslide Fred will hand him!!! Minus the chads!
Have you ever seen or read any of Sun Tzu’s “Art of War”?.........It’s amazing............
According to one poll. Just talked to a Republican friend here. We’re planning an event for this Sun. She’s heard from a representative of every presidential campaign except the big three. Interesting.
You’re absolutely correct. There are also large dairy farms that use them but crop farmers don’t need them. That’s why they’re more concentrated in certain areas.
I said I didn’t believe it. I want a Fred bumper sticker.
Yeah, on May 3rd. I endosed him on February 9th. Ha!

O'bamma is already doing the health care thing...
YAYYYYYY!!!! I have been waiting SOOOOOO long!
Go Fred Go!
Ooh. I’m stealing that. Ok?
*Bats eyelashes on puppy dog eyes*
Gimme Fred Till i’m dead....;*
Good for you! :-)
No nerfball bat in your future, LOL. :-)
Unfortunately there are those out there who live and breathe the polls and believe everything they hear!! If only they knew the truth! :-(
A Fredneck? Not bad.
Not a Fredhead? That’s what I’ve been calling myself.
Republicans lost a very devoted man last week. He served as our county chair and I was his co-chair for many years.
I think you’re right about your 3-way race prediction.
Of the three mentioned, Thompson is the obvious choice.
Guiliani? He will be the candidate when pigs and angels join hands and fly out of you know where. He will never be acceptable to the party.
I like Mitt Romney, but must confess I never heard much about him until he decided to run. I think he would be a good VP candidate with Thompson and he might consider it. He’s not as young as he looks, but he is still young enough to run in 8 years. He’s attractive, charming and all that, but the percentage of people who would be turned off by the Mormon thing is probably large enough to give an advantage to the dem candidate. That is unacceptable.
Well, that leaves Fred, and he ain’t bad leavings.
but I just cannot get out of my mind, the picture of millions of Liberated women going to the polls en masse to vote for a woman, because its OUR time...............
Don’t worry about it! No one hates women more than other women. Believe me! I’ve seen it in the workplace. A man gets promoted over you, the woman shrugs and goes on. A woman does it ... hell hath no fury, etc.
I’m way too mad at Laura to vote for her. She’s been a real biddy about our President and there is something wrong with her emotionally.
I'd like that to be Thompson/Hunter, or vice versa!
I’d like a Thompson/Hunter ticket if the Thompson was Tommy Thompson. He has a better chance of winning the nomination than Fred.
