I am really getting sick of my freedom of choice being taken away by the food police! I should be able to choose what I want to eat without artificial sweetener being snuck into all the drinks and drink mixes. All the food is becoming low fat or fat free, and nothing tastes good any more. I really resent this "do gooder food" being forced oon me and being lied to about the real reason people are obese. It's simply that most people aren't doing hard work any more or walking the way people used to do years ago. People can eat whatever they want if they burn calories. And why aren't the food police pushing for excercise instead of putting artificial sweeteners in everything? The answer is that the drug companies are making TONS of money with this false propaganda of low fat, sugar free, ( artificial sweetener) Have a anice day.

Nietsche wrote that “Modern men are being prepared to live lives of slavery in the most exacting sense.”

And slaves don’t eat steak. They are fed approved amounts of Humble Pie, Chinese Dogfood, and of course, Victory Porridge.

It’s human nature for some to want control over others. Those who by nature, feel powerless, are more and more finding ways to fill the power need in our ever litigation controlled society. Some feel that they have superior knowledge about XX along with the need to have control over others (to fill their own inadequacies), and thus, you have a nanny state.

Making an Asian sesame pork tenderloin right now. Bump and YUM! When the stores run specials on tenderloin, say $2.89/lb, stock up. Fantastic, flexible cut...and, as w/BBW, the secret is all in the marinade.

Yeah, I hear ya. This is a practice run for next weekend and Memorial Day (hosting a big shin-dig). Of course, last weekend could have been called a practice run for this weekend...

Every day at lunch at work I would get a baked potato with sour cream with chives at Wendy’s. Well, they no longer have plain sour cream. They only have the low fat that tastes artificial and has 15 ingredients!

If you eat at home, you can eat anything you like. I don’t buy anything that has ingredients I don’t want to consume in them.

Um, prepare your own food from the scratch and beat the whole system? Cheaper and better and nobody to tell you what to do.

The hog farmers have been told to breed hogs with low fat and more lean mean. I can’t get pork with the marbling and flavor it used to have outside of Montana where there are still free roaming hog farms. Everything else is enclosed pens for hogs, where they don’t get enough water to reduce the effluent.

“Um, prepare your own food from the scratch and beat the whole system? Cheaper and better and nobody to tell you what to do.”

Exactly!

As long as the raw ingredients are still legally for sale, make your own cakes, pies, ribs, baked potatoes, whatever! Cooking is fun, a great skill to have to impress freinds/family/dates, and you don’t need to leave a tip.

Plus, you know what is going into your food at all times.

Oh the choices are out there - just be prepared to pay a premium (of time and money). Shop around at local farms and on the internet. Sometimes local grocery stores will stock a certain product if you ask. Gardens are a wonderful way to get good veggies. They also get you out in the sunshine which, along with the exercise, is a great mood booster.

"The answer is that the drug companies are making TONS of money with this false propaganda of low fat, sugar free, ( artificial sweetener) Have a anice day."

Which is NOTHING compared to what the food giants make by passing off a slurry of faked, imitation, processed, formed, flavored, adulterated, colored, artificially-"fortified" sludge on the public. Real food, containing REAL nutrition is expensive, and even that (especially in the case of meat) has been adulterated and modified. Don't get me started...

We manage to find plenty of high-fat, high sugar stuff. Our problem is *not* eating it.
