HINT & TIPS Welcome to the FReeper Canteen Hints & Tips that can be make your life easier. Or not! Hopefully, you'll find something here that will make your life easier. Or maybe someone you know could use one of these ideas. If you have a hint or tip of your own, be sure to leave it behind before you leave the Canteen. Ma can always use helpful ideas on how to keep the Canteen clean with all the youngsters running around. Let's start with some general household hints.
*** Use of soap wrapper: Don't throw away the wrapper after removing a bar of soap. Place it inside your shoe cabinet or shoe box. It's a cheap way of filling the air with a nice smell. *** If your polished furniture has small scratches: Try rubbing them with a shelled walnut. You'll see the scratches just disappear! *** If you have problem with slippery shoelaces which refuse to stay tied: Rub them with a candle and make them less slippery so that knots stay put. *** To keep lint and dust off glass top tables, wash them in a solution of warm water and fabric softener. Add one tablespoon of liquid fabric softener to one quart of warm water. The fabric softener will clean the glass inexpensively and will help keep lint from gathering on the glass. Also great for computer screens and TV's *** Don't throw away odd socks or socks with holes in them, use them to make a mop. Tie several socks (10-12 works best) to a mop or broom handle and use just like you would a regular mop. White cotton socks work best for this project and by the time the "sock mop" wears out, you'll probably have plenty more socks to make a new one. ***Get rid of pet hair on upholstery effortlessly by wiping the furniture with a slightly dampened sponge. (All hints found on websites. Management makes no claims to the effectiveness of any hints) Join us again next week for more hints.

That is strange. But Im sure welcome at the moment, heh?Very. We are reveling in it.
The typical late spring blast-furnace heat had already made its appearance, with promises of much worse to come.
This is a nice respite and I wish it would last a long time.

and may the terrorists experience the level of retribution as was meted out in the scene from the movie The Patriot where the father took his son back from the Lobster Backs on the wooded trail. Film at 11:00.

And forget about sleeping. I can't even see the last page. I have no idea what's going on with the server. These pages have been hitting the tolerance for questionable and prohibited words more and more. (I would love to know what those are). When the happens, it just stops the page dead.
Some weirder moments: recently the added the Steve Jackson Games websites because it's a gaming company. However, there are no online games on the site -- it's the gaming companies site. (And for historical reference, it technically has the longest running daily blog on the Internet -- it started in 1993!)
Also, and this has been going on for a while, there are some URLs connected to Freerepublic that I can't see because freerepublic.com is on the (Denied/Crime) list. Go figure.

Believe me, I wouldn’t send you something questionable. Don’t know what’s causing the problem. Can you check your “spam” settings or firewall to see if you see anything?

FYI: Anything with “radio”, “music”, “mp3”, “games” & any combo of letters that could be profane, are automatically blocked here at work. For a long time, anything from foki was blocked/banned/restricted.

GM, dear.
i see that you were NOT "washed away" in the storms of last evening.
HEAVY rain & DAMAGING wind on our side of the river, between 5-9PM.
LOTS of trees down on cars/electric lines!

Oh, I know it isn't you. And sometimes I can see everything by switching my preferences to 20 posts per page -- and even then I can't figure it out.
I've gone home and reread them, and I have no idea. And it usually doesn't have anything to do with the last thing that appears on the page. I can't explain it or do anything about it.

01. ) Anyone who has actually read the instructions for a kitchen sink garbage disposal as far as what and what not to put in it would never put any food stuffs in it.
02. ) Anyone experienced in the use of an automatic dishwasher already knows that they don't really wash any dishes. They might come close to sterilizing dishes but not actually washing them. Dishes have to be washed in the sink before using a dishwasher. At best, they should be used for storage of washed dishes but not be counted on to wash dishes.
03. ) Trash compactors.....filthy, dirty, moldy, stinky, disease-ridden garbage under the kitchen sink? Just lovely!
04. ) Fabric softeners.....put oil in your clothes to sham a feeling of "softness." I thought the idea was to remove oils from clothes, not put more oil in them. Fabric softeners are magnets for dead skin, dust, lint and dirt.
I can't think of anymore shams that shrewd marketers have put over on American women at the moment but there are many. So much for household hints.
