Tonight I cried. I really cried. I miss my son Derek, each and every waking minute. He was,is, and always will be my hero. He did not question his mission, as I'm sure he knew what the majority of Americans do not realize, and that is the real threat we face. He fought for democracy in Iraq, knowing that we face global terror if that is not obtained. He fought for the United States, his family, his son's future, and the continued freedom for the citizens of his country. He loved this President and admired the faith and courage he had in knowing the outcome of failure. For my son, I will continue on this mission. I will continue to ask for Sandy Berger to become a man and take a lie detector test. I will ask the Clinton's to do the same. I will pray for those in Congress to have the strength to invoke the Logan Act on Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for their part in embolding the enemy. I will pray for the continued strength of the Patriot Guard and the VietNam Veterans who don't want to see this again. I will pray for the help I need to uncover the corruption in Congress, and dismiss those that are guilty. I will pray that our country once again demands that we are, "One Nation, Under God." I don't wipe away my tears anymore. As one wonderful soldier told me at Walter Reed, "It is part of my story." Tonight I cried. I don't want sympathy, nor would my son. He is, and always will be a patroit, a loyal American, and a warrior for the cause of freedom.
Debbie Proud mom of Capt. Derek Argel
Prayers for you and yours. Your sons sacrifice will always be remembered. You did a great job instilling love for this country into him. Also prayers for the families who have lost loved ones in Iraq and Afghanistan. May God watch over our brave men and women, that will do all they can to complete the mission.
While Sandy Berger may never become a real man and the Clintons et al may never act honorably, your son will never be forgotten.
There are real men and real women who are standing with you. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm honored by your son's service. Never forget.
They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength, they will soar as with eagles’ wings; They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint. [Isaiah 40:31]
God Bless you Debbie and your beloved son.
God Bless Him
God Bless America
God bless you Debbie...we pray with you and for you.
You son was an honorable man, raised by a WONDERFUL Mom.
Thank you!
Flag. Special flag.
Please check your Freep Mail.
You raised a hero.
Safeguarding all our tomorrows.
Standing on the right side of history and civilization.
You are a hero to me. You should not have to think about all those other things, I am sorry for that.
None of it will be forgotten, all of it matters. So very much so in the most important ways of all.
Debbie..may you find comfort in the fact that your son died for a noble cause.
The history books have yet to record the incredible job that the men like your son and our armed forces and our President played in saving the world from evil. This evil may be the worst evil every devised by mankind. It sure casts the evil that Hitler propagated seem mild in comparison.
Bless you and I salute your son.
I saw a photo recently, of a Marine whose face was largely burned off due to a roadside bomb. It was his wedding photo. Many would look at that photo and say "oh my God, the war has turned this young man into a hideously disfigured human being (the reaction of an acquaintance of mine). For me, however, my thoughts were of GRATITUDE and ADMIRATION for such men who PUT THEIR BODIES ON THE LINE and MAKE INCREDIBLE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL SACRIFICES DOING SO!
Alot of folks on this site claim that I am full of hate for everyone. Well folks, if you want to see who MY heroes are (and I am a 31 year old man) they are the men and women of our armed forces, who despite being figuratively maimed by our press and members of congress, and literally maimed by terrorist thugs, keep the stiff upper lip and do their jobs with bravery and honor.
Thank you Debbie for supporting your son who supported this nation and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. One Nation Under God. May God grant you the comfort that only He can give. Your son’s sacrifice to fight this war on terror was truly a worthwhile cause. Contrary to what the msm says, there are many who appreciate those who are putting their lives on the line for this mission.
No Sir,
You are not full of hate. You think exactly as I do. I honor each and every person who serves for a better nation. Only the fools of this world think that we are far removed from this war, while it is in our own backyard. Thanks for your post and your blessings on our troops!
Deb
I am very sorry for your loss, I can’t even imagine the sorrow that you and your family experience. My prayers are with you, God Bless you and your son.
Eons ago, a Father created a plan to rescue an invaded and oppressed world of death and suffering.
One day that plan had to be invoked, and that Father sent his Son, who went and gave his life, unappreciated by most, misunderstood by authorities, and executed by the uncaring and callous, oblivious to even the reason for His being there.
When the Son died, the Father hurt so bad, that He had to hide the scene from his own otherwise all-seeing eyes.
I have not lost a son or daughter... I cannot feel what you feel. But that Father can. He can turn your sorrow into comfort and your tears to life anew.
May God go with you... You have the prayers of thousands.
Deep respect for you and your family’s sacrifices.
Our prayers are with you, Debbie.
