Terror Arrests in Fort Dix Plot FORT DIX, N.J.
May 8, 2007 - Six ethnic Albanians have been arrested in a plot to storm the Fort Dix installation in Burlington County.
Five of the suspects were arrested in Cherry Hill. They will be arraigned later today in federal court. Officials say it will happen in either in Camden or Newark.
Investigators say the suspects planned to use automatic weapons to storm the base and kill solders. The men were lured into a secret meeting to purchase AK-47s from an arms dealer, who was secretly cooperating with the FBI.
Officials say the suspects worked on a number of targets, including the Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, Fort Monmouth in Eatontown, and several Coast Guard stations.
Federal agents made the arrests when the suspects zeroed in on Fort Dix.
Officials say some of the suspects were caught on tape.

A tip helped authorities arrest six New Jersey men Monday night in connection to an apparent terror cell, according to NBC 10s sister station WNBC in New York.
Five of them were arrested in Cherry Hill, according to reports.
Investigators said the men planned to use AK-47s to storm Fort Dix and open fire on soldiers and civilians stationed at the New Jersey base, noting that other military locations were scouted by the terrorist cell.
Three of the unnamed suspects are brothers who are all believed to be Islamic radicals, according to sources. Some of the six arrested men were also born in Albania and the former Yugoslavia, but they have spent a significant amount of time in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, according to authorities.

NEW YORK -- Six men from New Jersey have been arrested in an alleged terror plot against soldiers at Fort Dix, according investigators.
Investigators said the men planned to use automatic weapons to enter Fort Dix and kill as many soldiers as they could at the N.J. base. Fort Dix was just one of several military and security locations allegedly scouted by this group, authorities said.
Investigators told Newschannel 4's Jonathan Dienst that these arrests are the result of a tip to the FBI and use of an informant to track the suspects. The terror suspects traveled over the last several months from New Jersey to the Poconos where they practiced firing automatic weapons, investigators said.
Investigators said the group discussed targeting numerous locations like Dover Air base, Fort Monmouth and several Coast Guard stations before deciding on Fort Dix as their intended target. Fort Dix is run in part by the Army and is a reserve-training center, but active units take part in training, including some which focuses on counter-terrorism....
bttt!
Cherry Hill, NJ?? Eagles’ fans...no surprise.
I’m sure the Dems will waste no time spinning this to blame Bush. “If we weren’t in Iraq, they wouldn’t be trying to kill us,” etc.
The fact that they are Yugo salesmen will be irrelevant.
Try being the mental midget that you are, on some other thread.
Bush talks like it’s a war, but it looks like the Feds handled this like a LE operation. They used a weapons purchase sting to get enough evidence for conviction in a court of law. I don’t think that’s the right approach.
These folks that write and publish “guides to illegals” to avoid capture, shouldn’t they be considered to be aiding and supporting terrorists?
Especially with the media leaking/destroying every tool we have the last few years.
These guys have at least a civilian that works on base (or maybe one of them did). I hope a fellow terrorist hasn’t wiped out the rest of their info based on this being reported.
Ditto on the rosaries.
They may have used the weapons purchase to be able to follow the money...or look for additional links and people involved.
Right!
“un-uniformed combatants”.
You are SO right.
Good Morning!
Wow, a guerilla in the wild.
I visited Offutt Air Force Base and the SAC Museum back in the 1980s. The parking lot out back with all the retired AF planes was fantastic. It looked like the top of my dresser back when I was a kid with all those Revell models close to each other.
Re: Have the Democrats protested the arrests yet?
Give CAIR time.....I am sure their attorneys are on the case as we speak.
This will defeat the terrorists belief in “martyrdom”, they would think twice if there family was held fully accountable for their terrorist actions!
COWARDS!!
ANYTHING that might even remotely justify Bush’s actions must be spun by the Media’s Gay Mafia...
And the Democrats continue to press for voting rights for felons.
Good job FBI... Nice work by the G-men. Director Mueller is doing a fine job, IMO.
