I going to celebrate by buying more CUISINART things!!!
HOORAYYYYY!!!
BTW, FReeper Foodies - the Cuisinart Food Processor 11 cup is great, but get the bigger one.
Viva la France and Cuisinart!!
Notice who the french chicks supporters were? Moose - limbs.
The weird looking broads.
I'll take my lead from the wise young lady here; I've been saving a bottle of Gevrey-Chambertin for this day.
DU is really slow today. They must really be commiserating about it. I have to wonder how Karl Rove engineered election fraud in France? He’s just amazing, I’m telling you.
“There are a few conservative freepers that live in France. But the majority of the French still hate us that is true.”
WRONG !!!!
This is good news for France, good news for Europe, and good news for America!
Apparantly there is something to that pendulum theory after all. They were too far left, for far too long.
Good answers from Sarko. Hard not to like a guy who says things like that.
As hollow her economic and social concepts were, I want to put down for the archive here on FR that this woman was extraordinaly fit and ATTRACTIVE for a 53 (!) year-old. I’ve seen recent bikini pictures of her that would put many 35 year-olds to shame. She also seems to have very young children. A daughter of her didn’t look older than eight or nine.
Respect for that!
“The only thing I care about france is that they have like a gazillion nuclear weapons and this huge Muslim population and they are all a bunch of cowards. I worry about France more than Iran. At least we could (theoretically) attack Iran. What do we do if France falls under the control of the towel crowd?”
You want to worry about an islamic bomb, worry about Pakistan. It has had the bomb some time ago, and has brand-new Block-52 F-16s to deliver it, courtesy of the United States...
“P.S. I guess we don’t have to ask how you voted, huh?”
Sarkozy, in both turns.
I have respect for Bayrou and hope he’ll manage to create a strong Centrist party which will steal votes from the Left more than from the Right, but having the unfortunate privilege of actually working for Segolène Royal as head of the regional government which employs me, this election was a definite no-brainer for me.
“I’m sorry for some of the insults I may have made in the past and I certainly hope that the other FReepers you were talking about will stop being so hostile with the French. I generally try to confront them on any threads that I see them in and hope others will do the same. As far as I’m concerned, it is like a cancer in Free Republic.”
Thank you for this apology, but really, an apology is not what I was after when posting. I am just thinking, four years have gone by during which we could have worked together and get to better understand each other’s concerns, and instead we got out-staged by those (from BOTH sides of the Atlantic, I am not into victimization) who preferred to crack cheap jokes and hurl abuse.
Hopefully today’s election will help us ALL remember that we come from the same stock as far as civilization and common values are concerned, and that we basically fought the same wars on the same side, from the Indepence War to Operation Enduring Freedom via the Korean War and Gulf War 1.
Please, just for today, drop the backbiting. Sarko was by far the better choice. And the left lost. That’s important. I bet it will also have some impact on the family-values issues. Even if it doesn’t, it’s still likely to do a lot of good.
What a babe! Vive la France indeed!!
That's the sum of my shallow analysis.
Wow. Astute and incisive political commentary, newbie. Perhaps you should be a judge at the Miss Universe competition.
