This week we have some progresive music from the late 60's thru the 80's.
Next week we'll move along to the 90's & 2000's along with some progressive metal music.

Progressive rock, sometimes shortened to prog or prog rock, is a subgenre of rock music which arose in the mid-to-late 1960s, reached the peak of its popularity in the 1970s and has continued as a form of popular music to this day. It is commonly associated with symphonic rock and art rock.

The selections below are just a sampling. This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!

Talent Search

READ: Isaiah 6:1-8

I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” —Isaiah 6:8 Television shows like American Idol have become a global phenomenon. Millions wait anxiously to find out who will be the next singer eliminated in the musical talent hunt.

Some call it “a new concept in entertainment,” but it’s hardly a new idea. As a boy, I remember watching Ted Mack’s Original Amateur Hour. That show was followed by the bizarre talent hunt The Gong Show in the 70s, and then by Star Search in the 80s. It is an ongoing theme of television to search for someone unknown and make him or her famous.

Dreams of fame and fortune, however, are not at the heart of the search that is truly timeless. That search is God’s own pursuit of hearts that are available for His work in the world.

In Isaiah, the Lord asks: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” And then we read Isaiah’s ready response: “Here am I! Send me” (6:8).

God is not seeking the most qualified or talented; rather, He is seeking hearts that are surrendered to Him. He is seeking those who are available, dependable, and willing to be used. In those lives, God will show Himself strong, and He will be glorified.

Sugar & Spice








Sugar and I are as close as two Sisters can possibly be
Even though we do not share the exact same Family Tree
We share the same Mother, but we think we have different Fathers

Since we do not look the same, but that really isn't a bother
Two sophisticated young ladies, pampered and content
Enjoying a style of life which doesn't cost a cent

Though sometimes we seem to possess very different points of view
Regarding the World around us and all its various radiant hues
While Sugar is the faultless Apple of Our Pretty One's eye

My attraction leans more towards the ruggedly handsome Big Guy
Who stated that he had no use for wide eyed, exotic lumps of fur
Until the Night that I jumped into The Big Guy's lap and he felt me Purr

Offering a nice contrast to Our Pretty One and Sugar's throaty Solo
I began working my way into The Big Guy's heart, but how would I know?
That I'd soon prefer the sound of his voice and his fingers' touch

The Big Guy's starting to pay attention to Sugar too, but not as much
It's also nice that by watching Sugar and I both at work and play
The Big Guy's beginning to understand Our Pretty One a little more each Day
