Okay, I’ll ping ya if/when I see a transcript.

Hey, if you run across one, I would like a ping too... Just remember "LowOiL" like you car needs an oil change or something.

Thanks (yeah, I'm a Duncan fan too, but had to work tonight)..

Why can't I get a straightforward answer to my very simple question to Romney's supporters tonight?

Shouldn’t a candidate’s current rhetoric bear at least a passing resemblence to their record?

A total circus, IMHO.

A thirty second response was the problem. America's attention span.

I feel that Ron Paul is sincere about the life issue, and is SUPPOSED to understand the Constitution, but he is a states’ rights guy. Go figure. It seems that people just ignore the federalism aspect of the Constitution.

You're right regarding Ron Paul. He doesn't accept the federalist argument on abortion, but at least had the sense to set his reservations aside and back the federal partial birth abortion ban, because he felt it would save lives.

Perhaps one day he will "get it" and back a complete federal ban. As of now, we cannot expect him to lead us there.

I seriously doubt that remark registered with many folks. No one is gonna remember that Rooty said it. Let me revise my remark. With 60% opposing the war, its not an insignificant phrase, its a meaningless phrase in the big picture.

I can't get behind McCain. He spent the last 6 years undermining Bush - a man we Republicans elected president- and now he wants the nomination. I'd vote for Rudy first.

I am a bit surprised that so many FReepers are aligned with LSM re Romney... kinda buyin’ the snake oil. Anyway, I’m glad Romney is in front because this is just the beginning of a marathon...:)

Mitt did well tonight. I hold out hope for Fred Thompson to enter the race. Until that happens Duncan Hunter held is own and then some. I felt sorry for Tancredo when he was trying to quote Ben Franklin and Chris Mattews cut him off. I'll have to agree with other FReepers when they said that this was not a Republican debate but Hardball with Chris Matthews and all his guests happened to be Republicans.

My personal opinion of Chris Matthews is that he is an @sshole.

Funny you should mention that, because Romney’s glibness reminds me of Clinton’s. And there is something inaccessible about Mitt. I like accessibility, have become accustomed to that about GWB’s demeanor and, frankly, I like it. I think it’s all American to appear as someone the ordinary person could relax with.
