1) He sounds good too.
2) I like the idea of three presidents in a row with a southern accent. But he has a classy, old south accent. Far above the hick sounding twangs of the current and former occupant.

First part was excellent - I am really excited about the prospect of supporting a candidate I concur with and believe in, rather than voting for someone just because I loathe the alternative.
Last time was Toomey (PA Senate) in 2004 - glad to know the GOP betrayal that year didn’t completely kill the fire in me.

A part of me wants him to jump into this race now, but another part of me appreciates the time he’s taking to weigh this decision.
He gets how important it is.
Quite a welcome change from those in the race now.

So far so good...
“secure borders & ports”...Thompson gets it!

"It's the number one challenge in the country!, he says.
But I think I heard him thinking, 'It's going to be the number one challenge for me!' Anyone else hear him think that?
To: Politicalmom
Glad to see I’m not the only one to noticed that. ;-)

I love President Bush and pray for him every day, but there
s something so comforting and reassuring about Fred’s manner of speaking. The man is loaded with gravitas!
To: kellynla
Fred Thompson looks good and sounds great.

Sean quickly changes the subject to Fred's physical condition.I noticed that, too. It's a touchy subject for a Rudy supporter. He'll avoid questions on abortion and 2nd amendment, I'm sure.

The only politician with a better one is Haley Barbour.

“He said that he expected the dirt-sniffing, but was surprised that it wasn’t the Democrats doing the sniffing. Was he talking about Rudy and/or McCain?”
Why the surprise? Certain parts of the GOP make the Cook County political machine look respectable.

I don’t watch TV, so I can’t see the delivery. Unless the delivery was poor, he didn’t slip one iota.
