Awesome. Looks like lava flow hit it. But wait...gasoline doesn't burn hot enough to "melt" steel and concrete! Is this another instance of henchmen of President Bush setting off bombs ala the Twin Towers? Oh my!

Does anyone have Rosie O’Fatso’s email address? We need to get her engineering knowledge involved at once!

Haven’t you seen the kerosene/rabbit cage experiment? It has been proven, time and time again, that steel cannot melt!

Wow. Fox is showing the pictures now. Wonder if Rosie knows that there’s tape showing FIRE MELTS STEEL. News flash for her.

Precisely. Steel does not have to melt to fail in a structure. Anyone who's even seen a medieval-style blacksmith work at a Renaissance Fair knows that steel becomes malleable far cooler than it becomes liquid. Morons like Charlie Sheen and Rosie O'Donnell should be dragged to the site of this accident and have pieces of the steel that failed, stuck up their .... noses. (You thought I was going to say something else, didn't you?)

Now, Rosie, are you going to go on The View tomorrow ...and in your usual "know-it-all" screaming match contest this incident...and say our Administration placed bombs in the girders of the bridge, and hired that truckdriver (who escaped, luckily) to wreck into the underpass?
Seems you used that "daydream" before when you told the world what you know to be true - that steel does not melt! LOL Are you going to be consistent with your falsehoods? Or don't you recall your lies, like most Narcissistic pathological liars? HoHum

Property damage claim, through the vehicles insurer, on this one will be a doosey insurance wise...guard rails and utility poles are billed 8K to 30K....but a bridge interchange whats that gonna cost?

That was my first thought when reading this, it’s all Bush’s fault because we know fire can’t melt steel.

I doubt anyone is going to hire this idiot driver again - if he is ever let out of prison ...
Actually Kaiser Hospital is almost walking distance from the Maze and 580 goes right by it - I hope they keep his room number secret - I can just see angry commuters leaving their cars and storming the hospital to tar and feather this guy.
I’m driving by the Maze in an hour or so - to get a first hand look - then have a chat with a retired CalTrans exec friend of mine. What a nightmare.

I see from the photo on the earlier thread that the section is 250 feet, not 250 yards as claimed in the news clip here. So I scale my SWAG by 3 and revise it to $20 Mil.
