A study to be published in the upcoming June edition of the American Journal of Public Health has researchers alarmed about growing rates of syphilis among homosexual and bisexual men. The overall number of syphilis cases in the United States fell from 50,578 in 1990 to 7,177 in 2003. Nevertheless, homosexual men have seen their rates rise significantly in this decade.
"The entire nation was caught unawares," said study lead author James Heffelfinger, M.D., a medical epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The study provides further evidence of the dangers involved with the homosexual lifestyle. LifeSiteNews.com reported in March about a study which demonstrated that practicing homosexual men with HIV are 90 times more likely than the general population to develop anal cancer.
Other studies have found that in addition to eating disorders, homosexuals experience increased incidences of sexually transmitted diseases, cancer, psychological problems and addiction problems. See related LifeSiteNews.com coverage: http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2007/mar/07032205.html
“Syphilis sive Morbus Gallicus” [Girolamo Fracastoro, 1530]. These blasted french!
More proof the government should stay out of healthcare.
Bump.
Not to mention BOHICA, and many a royal pain in the A**.
Not particularly surprising, considering that anal cancer is primarily spread by genital warts and that practicing homosexual men with HIV are, for obvious reasons, vastly more likely to have genital warts in that particular area. It's kind of a critical mass sort of thing. You get enough very promiscuous people having risky sex with each other and pretty soon you've got an epidemic.
Woah! Who'd a thought!! /sarcasm
I think I know how we can get rid of those pesky fluorescent light bulbs now...
Later pingout.
Would you be talking direct, physical, application of the mercury in those bulbs to the site of the warts, Meso?
Ouch! Broken fluorescent bult alert.

If you believe popular culture, “homophobes” cause AIDS and syphilis, through some means that aren’t discussed publicly.
Hiya, Luircin!
Reminds me of the “old days” when homosexual activists would attack Catholic priests and disrupt mass saying that the Catholics were “killing them”.
Now they have the rainbow sash wearers disrupting. I guess in was in the early 90s or 80s when they were really violent in churches. I remember some of that in France not too long ago.
What about personal responsibility? Blaming others for one’s own mistakes and resultant misery is always a bad idea, no matter what issue. And sometimes, **** just happens. That’s the way the world is. Happiness has to be found within, there is no perfect situation. Including other people. The whole “gay” idea that AIDS is the fault of other people is the most extreme example of “nothing is my fault, it’s always other peoples’ fault!”
If we let them marry, this wouldn’t happen. /s
You have that totally right. Homos are like young children, in that they are selfish, lacking a sense of personal responsibility, and when anything goes wrong, it is always someone else’s fault.
This is the undevelopped nature of homosexuality, which makes it fundementally immature and insular.
Where are the human ideals of loyalty, duty, responsibility, doing the right thing even if no one’s looking, adhering to truth? The basic rule of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is not a sectarian religious dogma, it is the very foundation of what separates human life from animal life.
Those who don’t honor this principle and strive to follow it as best they can are only two legged animals.
Anderson Cooper, please be careful.
Really????
