The disarming of America (mega-barf, fascism is here)

Now, how would one disarm the American population? First of all, federal or state laws would need to make it a crime punishable by a $1,000 fine and one year in prison per weapon to possess a firearm......
The disarmament process would begin after the initial three-month amnesty......
Special squads of police would be formed and trained to carry out the work. Then, on a random basis to permit no advance warning, city blocks and stretches of suburban and rural areas would be cordoned off and searches carried out in every business, dwelling, and empty building. All firearms would be seized. The owners of weapons found in the searches would be prosecuted: $1,000 and one year in prison for each firearm. Clearly, since such sweeps could not take place all across the country at the same time. But fairly quickly there would begin to be gun-swept, gun-free areas where there should be no firearms. If there were, those carrying them would be subject to quick confiscation and prosecution. On the streets it would be a question of stop-and-search of anyone, even grandma with her walker, with the same penalties for "carrying."

By the time it comes to that, don’t wait for them to come to you. Hunt down the ones who sent them. It’ll be a target-rich environment.

Maybe but as fat and comfy as Americans are, I doubt that would happen on a large scale. After a few of these incidents happen, the media will be quick to make the gubbermint thugs look like martyrs and the patriots will get painted like vermin. Make no mistake, once public sentiment turns enough against guns, that Washington feels it can get away with this or Congress and the POTUS totally caves in to UN control, this will happen and it will be over.

I only read the excerpt, but it sounds an awful lot like the Holocaust. Well... with a few (thousand, double-barreled) exceptions.
Seems like this is EXACTLY the kind of reason we have the Second Ammendment.
Good luck trying!

People like the Danster here have security people you will have to get past. No security team can maintain a 300 yard perimeter forever. That's all I'd need to ring Dan's gong, even with iron sights. And a real rifleman can do much better than that.

I don’t care if he is “trying to illustrate” or not. Over the years, the Left Wing has called ME a NAZI.
I’m not. This guy IS and he’s a leftist. I just wrong the Head Editor a scathing letter about this kook, and basically told him Americans will NEVER stand for people like that. HE IS a Hitler hiding behind a Pen.

I wrote a long letter to the Editor-in-Chief at that place, telling them to pound sand basically. (Not really, but I told him that given the fact there are 280-something million armed Americans, that makes US the majority.)

Bump to what you said-”the second amendment isn’t any more about hunting than the first is about playing scrabble” (I can’t remember who said it, but I love that quote).

You think several dozen IRA or ETA bombers made life tough in the UK and Spain (for the enforcers they opposed, mostly)?
Just wait until a plan like this is implemented in the USA.

Good luck finding enough JBTs to implement this. Most of the cops I know and shoot with would never go along with this. Besides, are they going to break down the doors of homes where families are at work and school?
Once an area is ‘swept clean’ how does Dan propose to keep the guns from flowing back in again?
This was borderline satire, but I believe Dan is serious, and whacked.

Yeah, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND every one READ “Unintended Consequences”. If these folks were to have their way, there WOULD be a very bloody civil war. Yes, I WOULD fight. So would my sons and daughters, my wife, brothers and sisters. All of us are armed, all of us stand up for the Constitution.
But, the fact is, the guy was right about one thing, it won’t come to that because “Americans won’t do it”.

Over at packing.org there is a guy asking about CCW classes in Northern Va.
Do they have CCW classes at the NRA HQ? The calendar for the range shows a CCW course on every other Tuesday.

For most of this article I assumed he was writing in the style of “A Modest Proposal”, then I got to the end. Either Mr. Simpson didn’t finish the article or he is actually serious. The whole block-by-block random sweeps sounds very Nazi-esk. Scary!

I just WROTE the Head Editor. Damn... I must have my mind wrapped around this whole thing being WRONG, huh?
