The Warren County Sheriff's Office says its seeks the public's assistance in locating two elderly women from Warren County.
Mary Ellen Walters, 68, and Ada Wasson, 80, were last seen last Thursday April 19th at Otterbein Retirement Living Community located at State Routes 741 and 63 in Warren County. The two women live in the Patio Homes section, which is an independent living area.
They are believed to be in Mrs. Wasson's silver 2000 Chevrolet Impala bearing Ohio registration DG 30 LC. The women were believed to have been traveling to a JC Penney outlet center either in Columbus, Ohio or Carrollton, Ky.
Friends and neighbors alerted sheriffs detectives Sunday that the women had not returned when expected.
Detectives have not been able to locate any record of their whereabouts after leaving home. There has been no activity on any gas or credit cards belonging to the women.
Foul play is not suspected at this time, but police are concerned for the womens safety.
Major John Newsom said detectives have exhausted most of their investigative options.
We just need the publics help at this point, he said.

###
UPDATE
There will be a search Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 27, 28, 29 - anywhere 50 miles east or west of I-71 from Columbus to Carrollton, KY. Grab a map, some posters and stake out a plot of territory to search. They could truly be anywhere.
Travel the roads less travelled and go down dirt roads and look down long driveways to abandoned homes. It would be great to hang a poster on "No Outlet" signs after driving down dead end roads so as to alert others that the road has already been searched.
Take a couple bottles of water and a snack in case you find them! They'll be thirsty and hungry!
For more information, or to print some posters, go to www.neighborsearch.info
A $5000 reward is being offered by the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Thank you.

In an earlier post, you asked about an outlet mall in West Carrollton.
There is no outlet mall; however, the Old Roberds Emporium has opened in the old Roberds building. This is a group of small vendors selling everything from furniture to Avon. It is located off route 75’s exit 47. If you come off of south bound 75, Old Roberds Emporium is on your left and the river and a few buildings are on your right.
To get there without taking the interstate, you would go west from route 741, right on East Dixie, and left on Crossover Street.
Two women disappear into thin air and a 4 year old girl is missing from her bed...This is so sad!! Please pray for them (and all the other missing children and adults)to be found soon!!
I just wanted to let you know that we have not forgotten.
Driving south down 741 towards 725, I noticed an overgrown lot that has been for sale for several years. Have you contacted real estate companies? Most have properties that have been vacant for years. Many of these are overgrown and could easily hide a car.
Great idea.
We haven’t done that yet but it sure makes sense!
I have been gearing up for the boat search weekend, getting magnets, underwater camera and boats lined up to search Ceasars Creek Lake, Stonelick and a couple of boat ramps on the Ohio River.
The family searchers are going back over areas previously searched in a 45 mile radius around Otterbein.
A psychic has said to look again around 42 at 127 in KY and that will be done this weekend. Another said look for rural white churches and look within 300 yards of them. I’m not a big believer is psychics but we’ll take all the help we can get.
My sister has contacted scuba clubs, as well as bicycle clubs and motorcycle clubs who are having rides in the general area. If on land, I bet they’ll be found by smell, not sight at this point so those groups could be invaluable now.
We walked 741 south of Dayton Mall to Otterbein a week ago with nothing found. We need a ground search of an area south of Manning Rd, west of Great Miami River, east of 122. That includes Germantown Metro Park. Any familiarity with that park? Is the lake big enough and deep enough to hide a sunken car?
Just got done with a TV interview on Channel 5 from Cincinnati. Watch tonight at 5:00 to see what we’re up to.
Thanks for your help!
I have been to Germantown Metro Park once several years ago. I am not familar with the lake. Anyone going to Germantown Metro Park should go in a group with someone familar with wooded areas, a map of the park, a good compass and bottled water. My friend (a city girl) and I got lost near the visitor’s center. We got there twenty minutes before the center opened. Decided to take a short walk on a marked trail that looped back to the center. The twenty minute walk turned into a two hour walk. Fortunately, I have some experience in the woods and found the vistor’s center again. My friend would not have made it out by herself. After we returned to our car, a man was lead out of the woods by two people with fishing gear. From the conversion I heard, he had gotten lost and they had to bring him out.
I will try to contact some of the real estate companies myself.
My feeling, ever since I found out they left in the afernoon, is that the shopping trip had been cancelled and they had gone to some place locally. If they did not leave until 4:00, they may have just gone out to eat.
Ada Wasson is a widow. She is the one who may have attempted suicide.
This is still questionable. Would she have done this with her friend, Mary Ellen, in the car?
Why worry about “filling” her gas tank the day before if she felt this way?
How would this affect the possible location of the car?
How odd that these two ladies just disappeared.
Just seems strange. IMO if they got lost, the car should of been found by now. The suicide talk makes me wonder if they had something planned? I think i read the hubby of the one was out of town? Still wondering why nothing has been seen in the local news about them.
Anyway that these women would have decided on a whim to go to the casino boat in Indiana? I was there yesterday and there were several elderly people. With the route from Otterbein, it could be easy to get lost.
No, I don’t think so. There is no indication that they gambled.
This was a planned shopping trip and they did not like to drive after dark.
Apparently, they did not leave until 4:00 p.m. They could not have returned before dark from Carrollton. On a previous trip to Carrollton, they left at 10:00 a.m. To me, this suggests that they may have canceled the long drive to Carrollton. They may have planned on running errands or shopping locally and then to dinner.
any news?? I pray all the time...
I have tried to keep up with this story and have not seen anything about it in the news for a long time now and there have been no new leads on here for a while.
God be with these 2 ladies wherever they are!!
Has anyone heard ANYTHING about these two ladies?!?!?! Are they still searching?!?!?!
Does anyone know what is going on with these two ladies? There was a relative on here that was updating the search areas and such. Have not heard anything on the news or on the net.
I haven’t heard anything on the news or in the paper here in Cincinnati. Usually WLWT does an update on Friday or Saturday, but I didn’t hear anything.
I also come by here everyday thinking there will be an update. Continue to pray and keep this page going....
I also stop in every day to check on the status. So strange! I’m surprised this isn’t all over the news.
Apparently its more important to know which jail cell Paris Hilton is in......
