Giuliani as the GOP presidential nominee would be a dagger in the heart of the conservative movement (and a knife in the back).

Rudy drove libs crazy when he was mayor. Welfare was cut, taxes were cut, unions lost power, property values skyrocketed, crime was cut- These things didn’t happen because Rudy is one of them, but because he is one of us and he is far and away our best chance of winning.
“Rudy Giuliani has repeatedly said that he will not seek to change current law as described in the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funding of abortions except in cases involving rape or incest, or where the life of the mother is at stake. And, given the opportunity, a President Giuliani would appoint strict-constructionist judges who will follow in the philosophical footsteps of Justices Thomas, Alito, and Scalia, and Chief Justice Roberts.””
Yeah, and I am the son of a sea cook : )
Rudy is a POS!
: )
I’ve heard Fred Thompson is more of a moderate according to his voting record while Hunter is more of a true conservative - especially on illegal immigration and abortion issues.
Thompson voted YES on allowing more foreign workers into the US for farm work.
And - Voted to create a national registry containing names of U.S. workers who want to perform temporary or seasonal agricultural work, and to require the Attorney General to allow more foreign workers into the U.S. for farm work under H-2A visas.
Reference: Bill S.2260 ; vote number 1998-233 on Jul 23, 1998
Voted YES on visas for skilled workers.
This bill expanded the Visa program for skilled workers.
Status: Bill Passed Y)78; N)20; NV)2
Reference: The American Competitiveness Act; Bill S. 1723 ; vote number 1998-141 on May 18, 1998
I’ve not really seen that much on him and that makes me wonder about Thompson - but - I’m sure that information will open up once he declares he is a candidate! You know the media digs up everything!
Ducan Hunter on other hand has this record:
He is strongly prolife.
He voted YES on preventing tipping off Mexicans about Minuteman Project. (Jun 2006)
Voted YES on reporting illegal aliens who receive hospital treatment. (May 2004)
Voted NO on extending Immigrant Residency rules. (May 2001)
Voted NO on more immigrant visas for skilled workers. (Sep 1998)
Rated 100% by FAIR, indicating a voting record restricting immigration. (Dec 2003)
Some of us don’t mark candidates off for supporting LEGAL immigration.
This is going to upset a few of RINO Rudy’s supporters around here, assuming they haven’t migrated to more liberal places on the internet....
No, “positions” can change. Rudy has no core principles, other than do anything it takes to keep order. Rudy is a threat to American liberty. We are teetering on the edge of facism with Rudy, and socialism with the democrats, and I will resist either, hell does it make a difference to you?
It's time people pull their hands off their noses and take a big whiff of reality.
Surrendering conservative principles to fear is not an option.
Classic.
Regards
I hope all is well with you and yours.

"I do respect a woman's right to choose ...." Giuliani said. "...I ask people to look at the entire record and understand that this comes from something that I've thought about very, very heavily."

Opening Remarks to the N.A.R.A.L. "Champions of Choice" Lunch
The Yale Club, Thursday, April 5th, 2001
"Thank you very much for inviting me to say a few words of welcome. This event shows that people of different political parties and different political thinking can unite in support of choice. In doing so, we are upholding a distinguished tradition that began in our city starting with the work of Margaret Sanger and the movement for reproductive freedom that began in the early decades of the 20th century."

Im pro-choice. Im pro-gay rights, Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. No, I have not supported that, and I dont see my position on that changing, he responded.

Giuliani also indicated he would have upheld President Clinton's veto of the partial-birth abortion ban.
"Yes. I said I then that I support him, so I have no reason to change my mind about it," he told the New York Times in November 1999.

So, are we to believe Rudy from the 1990`s, Rudy in 2001, or the Rudy of today? Fact is, they're all one in the same. If you trust a liberal politico, you're a fool.
I didn’t realize Rudy had a history of appointing conservative justices. How many did he appoint when he was mayor?
And there ‘tis...
Giuliani praised Ruth Bader Ginsburg as a model of what Supreme Court justices should be like. As mayor of New York, he overwhelmingly appointed liberals as judges.
Why should we believe in his purported change of heart now?
Just pinged you on another thread with the details.
Got to get back to work.

Um...Jim...the admin mods are going to ban you for spamming. Is that what you want? Come to your senses man, before it is too late... < /s >
