Virginia Killer's Violent Writings Play told of pedophilic stepfather, murder of 13-year-old boy

APRIL 17--The college student responsible for yesterday's Virginia Tech slaughter was referred last year to counseling after professors became concerned about the violent nature of his writings, as evidenced in a one-act play obtained by The Smoking Gun. The play by Cho Seung-Hui, a 23-year-old English major, was submitted last year as part of a short story writing class. Entitled "Richard McBeef," Cho's bizarre play features a 13-year-old boy who accuses his stepfather of pedophilia and murdering his father.

This sort of cheap psychology doesn’t get very far. A lot of people who write violent books and direct violent films don’t do stuff like this.

Maybe Cho was sexually abused too. He certainly covered all the other “most likely to go psycho” bases.

You’re right. When I was in 2nd grade, I used to draw elaborate battle scenes of Smurfs slaughtering Carebears to humor my friends and scare my teachers. These days they’d lock me up.

Reminds me of Jeff Weise, the teenager a few years ago who went on a rampage.

He made an animated video full of anger, and ending in his death.

In this made up story, it’s unclear if the step father likes teenage boys or not. The boy accuses the step-dad but it’s presented as more of a made up accusation to get back at the step-dad. Pretty weird story though. Not very good.

They should have done more than send him to counseling. This “play” looks more like something written by an 8th grader than a Junior English major.

Good thing Shakespeare didn’t have professors to get “concerned”.

Yeah, I can’t tell whom we’re supposed to dislike more, Dick or his stepson - the author clearly wants us to dislike at least ONE of the two.

It’s time for our society to have a real discussion about yesterday.

The left would have you believe that guns were the cause of the violence.
I say it was the victim mentality that the left sells like crack cocaine.

What do all of these incidents have in common? The perpetrators have the warped sense that they are a victim and go on to spread that victim hood around.

This one should be placed square on the shoulders of the leftest socialists.

Sick and very childish. The writing, scenario, actions, etc. seem very childish. Hard to believe this is the work of a college senior with an English major.

I wrote a short story about suicide back in the 5th grade that was better this. Not sick, just emotional (made my teacher cry!).

Of course, if it was today I would have been sent to the shrink to get my head examined.

Between the semi-pornographic writing and the weapons violations, I’d think he was trying to position himself for a run at being the next US Senator from Virginia.

Va. Tech gunman writings raised concerns
BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — The gunman suspected of carrying out the Virginia Tech massacre that left 33 people dead was described Tuesday as a sullen loner whose creative writing in English class was so disturbing that he was referred to the school’s counseling service.

News reports also said that he may have been taking medication for depression, that he was becoming increasingly violent and erratic, and that he left a note in his dorm in which he railed against “rich kids,” “debauchery” and “deceitful charlatans” on campus.

The disconnect is that he must be nuts because he obviously had little talent as a creative writer.
