The way to turn it back on the Dems is ask:”Why did the police take so long to respond?”

Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker was happy to hear the bill was defeated. “I’m sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly’s actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus.”

Oh my. My husband and son were there two weeks ago for a campus visit. It is my son's first choice so far.

Prayers for your nephews safety.
At times like these we all feel so helpless. We pray for the safety of all, knowing that 22 have been killed.
This is just an outrage.

Eyewitness on FOX said one Asian guy, so probably a student who snapped. But, with this kind of carnage by one shooter imagine a planned, multi-shooter - bomber attack. There is a Beslan waiting down the road for us.
= = =
I suspect there will be multiple Beslen’s here either at the same time or within hours or days of each other. I expect 3-5 at the same time. Will see. No inside info. Just collecting puzzle pieces from the news and postulating.

An armed off duty police officer shopping with his wife at an upscale mall in Salt Lake City averted a similar incident just a few weeks back. He traded gunfire with the killer, essentially corralling him, until on duty police officers arrived. The gunman was shot dead.
It's tragic this gunman wasn't contained much sooner ... I think the campus police will be in for a huge shakeup ... in fact, some of the police responding (from what I saw on FOX) looked pathetic. Particularly the fat assed, knock kneed female that jumped out of the police cruiser and waddled off, actually I think she was attempting to run.

And if law abiding citizens were allowed to carry guns, 22 people may be alive today. I believe Virginia is a conceal carry state.
At the very least, campus security should be something other than a rent-a-cop.
Very sad.

And now the Fed.gov and gun-controllers will try to disarm everyone who DIDN’T do it! Thanks a lot, Fed.gov!

I think we should be rehashing this. What it demonstrates is that when law abiding people are not allowed to arm themselves, criminals can shoot us like fish in a barrel.
That's what I have always said about school lock downs. When I taught, I thought there was no way I would sit in a classroom with an armed nutter in the building. We were on the second floor, but there was a bank so it wouldn't have been a far jump. I always thought I would try to get my kids out the window and into the woods 35 feet away for cover if anything crazy happened. I always thought I would rather be fired and alive with the students than remembered as a great teacher who always followed the rules at my funeral...
