I just broke the news to my daughter who went to VT, ... we are there with you in our Thoughts and prayers. Nothing like this should happen in such a wonderful place as Virginia Tech cradled cozily in the middle of Virginia pasture land and surrounded by beautiful Mountains.

Looks like two separate shootings, one at 7:15 and one at 10:00. The 7:15 shooter is in custody. At least 1 dead. Lots of shots at 10 AM - maybe 30 or more. Possibly a dozen injured. Almost all of this is unconfirmed.

FYI: We had an incident here at work in 1994. 2 dead, 2 wounded. I was started to walk into the building when it went down around 7:30 am - I heard the shots. Former fired employee from 8 months earlier was the shooter. He 'killed' himself before the cops got to him. Not a good day.
