Gunman on Campus; Stay inside your building, away from windows; Shooting incident at West Ambler Johnston Hall

I didn’t know that, but I’m not surprised. I’m very concerned about the divisions getting wider in our country all the time. They’ll cause us to implode from within if we’re not careful. That makes it easier for an external enemy.
Appears to be a lot of senseless speculation in this thread...
What if this had been a suicide bomber instead of a gunmen? I bet the liberals if set up bommb free zones to stop that from being a problem, too.
You’re ridiculous.
If you READ my post, perhaps you’d notice that I even said faculty, et al (RESPONSIBLE mature adults) should be allowed to carry.
The truth is - it’s not emotional, it’s observation and “life’s school” - college kids are largely irresponsible selfish immature self-absorbed hedonists. It’s alot worse than 50 years ago.
As for your “ridiculous” - how? It’s the TRUTH that courts and government building AND DEFENSE PLANTS, etc, have NO-WEAPONS rules, for damn good reason.
For the record, I am 1 who thinks noone should have to have any kind of license to carry in general public. I don’t think there should be any CCW - why conceal? I prefer people let it hang out if they want. Then indeed, there’d be even less carnage because the crooks could SEE 1st thing people had guns and would be scared to ask. No guessing.
That’s me. I believe in total freedom with some logical, LOW-LEVEL exceptions. We’re not talking state-wide bans, here. Tiny areas.
Giuliani had a shooting incident a little like this. In 1998 he had the incident with the Empire State Building observation deck shooter who randomly shot a bunch of tourists. This guy was a Muslim and he even gave every indicator that this was a terrorist attack. The U.S. State Department list the attack as a "Serious Terrorist Incident". Giuliani's FIRST instinct was to get a bunch of Democrats together and to hold a press conference to openly say that the terrorist incident should be used to push for national gun control laws including the one being promoted by President Bill Clinton. Based upon that record, when it comes to terrorist incidents wherein the perps use firearms, one can assume that if this incident happened during a Giuliani administration (gag, retch) that he would do pretty much the same thing.
And if it is relevant to bring up concealed carry laws in relation to this incident, then it is relevant to bring up other gun grabbing legislation and prominent people and candidates who promote such gun grabbing legislation no matter how much it may hurt a Rudytard's liberal feelings.
I sure don’t carry my .44 in any stupid backpack!
And I could have drawn and put 4 Blue Glasers in his upper body mass before he could have blinked.

- Story is changing already -
MSNBC (alleges) the killer had:
One 9mm handgun
One .22 handgun
—
This may or may not be accurate
—
MSNBC is already interviewing a shrink who is talking of “root causes” and “history”!
Who cares!
The only thing the shrink had right is this was pre-meditated and based on previous killer’s methods
The time lapse between intial shooting(s?) and the mass killings is odd
—
Blame this on Schumer, McCarthy, Feinstein, Kennedy, Boxer, Kerry, Leahy, Edwards, Hillary -
And they will now be coming after your legally owned firearms
It would be a huge mistake to target me and mine
—
And in the country of the disarmed, the homicidal dip-shit with a handgun is king.
What a freakin' tragedy...
The scenario you have set forth here would make sense of the timeline of events...

Seems like common sense but sometimes the “shock” can paralyze you. It’s not everyday you see your fellow students getting murdered/executed and remembering some type of training you learned to stop the murdering coward.
Thanks for posting that link. That was aired on MSNBC at 1:30 (EST). I posted details about it four times, but too many people here want to believe that it was a terrorist attack by Muslims.
MSNBC just aired an interview with a student named Trey Perkins who helped Derrick O’Dell (the shooting victim from your link) barricade the door. The shooter was trying to reenter the classroom.

Cell phone cameras have horrible sound recording capabilities, plus there had to have been a lot of echoes.
A 9mm *is* a major caliber and it is a killer; part of the reason the SAS loves their Browning High Powers. I suspect that most of those fatalities were due to blood loss and shock, though, not instant fatalities.
Then I am sure that the People’s Republic of Maryland is just to your liking. Here in Virginia the only government buildings we cannot legally carry in are courthouses and the federal reserve banks, and the jury is still out on post offices. Don’t export that Maryland brand of conservatism?” here.
Are you talking about the bombing suspect? He was released to his parents until his April sentencing...
I'll only buy that if they were arguing about his plan to go out and murder as many Tech students as he could and he killed her to prevent her from calling the authorities. This was a well planned event. I'm still not completely buying the lone gunman theory here.
Just ONE student or teacher carrying a concealed weapon could have shot the killer and thereby at least limited the bloodshed.
