(CBS) GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine was injured Thursday night in a car accident on the Garden State Parkway, but a spokesman says the injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Corzine was elected governor of New Jersey in November 2006, soundly beating Republican businessman Doug Forrester in a race that set records for campaign spending but alienated voters with its mean-spirited politicking. With 97 percent of precincts reporting, Corzine had 53 percent to Forrester's 44 percent.
NYC 10PM news on now.
the only time you “swerve to avoid another car”, is if it cuts in front of you, or your rate of approach to it is too fast.
of course, the news is already blaming the driver of the red pickup truck. saying he pulled off the shoulder to enter the road, a second car moved into the left lane, and the governor’s Tahoe (travelling in the left lane) swerved to avoid that car.
Sound very plausable for the Parkway.
The driver of the red pickup truck might not even know that he or she caused an accident. Everything probably would have been behind him.
Did the 10pm news mention that Corzine was on his way to moderate a kumbaya meeting between Don Imus and the Rutgers basketball team at the governor’s mansion?
Corzine the commie commish of the most corrupt state on the east coast, dodges an illegal bullet....try supporting building a fence to keep the unwashed off your road, idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate the guys politics, but I pray for his recovery.
And while I may not agree with Corzine politically, I still hope he has a full and speedy recovery.
no, they just said he was returning from a conference in atlantic city.
Probably a drunk driving home from Atlantic City. I’ve gotten whacked before on the parkway by a guy falling asleep at the wheel. Nothing serious, but extreme hours of straight gambling plus drinks causes all sorts of havoc on that highway. I’ve seen some nasty, nasty wrecks traveling to and from Atlantic City on the Parkway.

Yes, on WPIX they did.
If this is an undocumented alien (Illegal alien) I’ll eat my sombrero! Watch how fast laws get passed when it involves a member of thier family or themselves! I wish him a speedy recovery and a conservative intervention!
Prayers for his FULL recovery.
egad! Don’t be so rash! :)
? hard to believe the things people say on here...
I am sure it is a NJ fleet vehicle.
That is probably because the driver of the red pickup didn't CAUSE the accident. NJ Troopers routinely exceed the speed limit while transporting the governor. Before Corzine, McGreevey's state vehicle had an accident under similar circumstances, and the other driver was issued a summons simply for being in the way (careless driving). There were enough witnesses though to contradict the trooper and NJ was forced to recind the citation. I suspect something similar happened in this case. Somebody made an unexpected move, and the trooper was not able to react in time. In NJ it is a given. If you smack somebody in the behind, (or run off the road to avoid hitting somebody), you are at fault. Period. Case closed. It cuts down on the number of sob stories Judges have to listen to.
