It was just announced on the "Mike and the Mad Dog Show" on WFAN (Imus's home base): Imus is out of a job on radio as well.
He will not even be on the air tomorrow.
I used to listen to Imus, and watched his MSNBC simulcast until he turned his program into an anti-American, Bush-hating rant day after day after day. He was funny before he made the decision to pander to the left. Now, of course, all his liberal butt-buddies — hypocrites all — are abandoning him like rats from a sinking ship.
There must be things worse in life than being forever remembered as Al Sharpton’s Bitch. There must be. I just can’t think of one at the moment.
Imus has stockholm syndrome. The amusing thing about this is that I dislike all parties involved.
I saw Ms. Makin go off on the guy and he did play the whole race card deck. The mope completely missed the irony of facing off against a non-white antagonist. She did him good.
Wow - you are totally right. I hope they review this at Santa School! Hauling Santa away in handcuffs could scar children for life....
Sharpton needs to be muzzled.

First they came for Imus....then....
That performance last evening just convinced me more than ever that Dick is a Clinton shill planted in the media.
And considering that Imus P.O’ed the Clintons about 10 years or so ago at that dinner, I’m sure they’re happy about the turn of events, too.

Its the latest in the feminization of America and the emasculation of American men.
This has been one NAUSEATING story from day one!
-Imus is an anus, however, as we all know, he didn’t call those women something they don’t hear daily in their choice of music. I’m glad to see his sorry butt punished, although punished for the many offensive things he has said about CHristians over the years (although that was given a pass).
-I seem to recall that Stevie Wonder won a grammy for a song about growing up as a “nappy-headed boy.” I think they should take back that grammy!
-Sharpton and JJ, “nappy-headed publicity and shakedown HOs!”
-Hitlery, OMG, she is just SHAMELESS! “Pelosi Galore” also shameless.
-The double standards are just ALL OVER THE BOARD with this story contrasted with the Duke story.

Funny how that feminization is coming from Sharpton and Jackson.
Peach,
Thanks for the post. You make some good points.
I do have to tell you that the matter of race won’t be resolved in my life time and I’m young. I am a follower of Christ first and above all. I know that my Lord looks on the heart of man and that’s how I choose to live also.
You take care and have a great day, freind.
Blessings,
Kate
Hi Sleuth,
Did you hear the man on Anderson Cooper who spoke of how no one man can humiliate you or steal your dreams? His was the best narrative I’ve heard on the subject. I was smiling and cheering as I listened.
Kate
You take care too, FRiend.
“I have no idea who that black man of CNN is but dang he makes sense.”
I wish I could remember that man’s name. He is very right. Nobody can steal your dreams! Wasn’t he great? I’m glad he mentioned Russell Simmons (the hip-hop mogul) who’s made untold centi- millions off that prison-rap culture saying that he should be the one apologizing to the Rutgers girls and not Imus. I had to say Amen!
Kate
Technically, Imus only accounts for 25% of the WFAN revenue. (Although I expect they'll take a bigger hit in listenership to other programs once people change their morning station pre-sets) However, he was also syndicated on approx. 60 other stations. So, I think the revenue impact will be somewhat greater. Despite the size of CBS, I believe it'll have more of an impact than "a drop in the bucket". (Especially while they're simultaneously weathering the Couric disaster.)
Additionally CBS/Infinity lost Howard Stern a year ago, has just lost Imus, and will soon lose Opie & Anthony if they let the likes of Sharpton dictate their hiring and firing. I would say that their radio division has already taken a significant hit and giving additional "juice" to Sharpton was a big mistake in the long run.
