Girly cars vs. Manly cars (Laura Ingraham)
Laura Ingraham radio show ^ | April 9, 2007 | n/a

Posted on 04/09/2007 6:53:58 PM PDT by fkabuckeyesrule

I was listening to the Laura Ingraham radio show today and they were talking about how some cars are girly cars and some are manly cars. Laura was particularly mentioning that the Mazda Miata was a girly car. This was news to me. Her assisitant chimed in with saying the Mazda 3 was a girly car. This was also news to me. I'm in the market for a new car and was thinking of buying the MAzda 3 or a Miata. I've been told that the 3 has fewer service issues than other Mazda cars.

Of course one would gather that the manly cars would be trucks.

One girly car I've noticed is the VW Beetle. I've never seen a man driving one of those.

What do Freepers think? What cars are girly cars and what cars are manly cars.

My 356 had been parked in a field for a year and a half. I found 9 black widows while cleaning it out. Old iron is fun.

Good luck with yours.

YES, a BMW 330i. Smooth as butter. Grips the road. Very nice. Allow money for speeding tickets.

My post about Neons was tongue in cheek.

230,000 miles! Geez, you need to put a grille badge on that car.

Since I do not work on or own a farm or ranch, I do not own a pick-up. However, my car does have a 16-valve inline four and can haul arse. When cruising on the highway at 70+mph, I average about 35mpg.

Yeah. From that low angle it looks like a mean roadster. But a side view with you sitting in it wearing your tangerine italian sport jacket with your friend Travis in the passenger seat.....says Poofer

Ugh!!!!

I found some pretty big wolf spiders in ours, but thankfully no Black Widows. I set off a bomb nearby nonetheless...

Lots of mouse nests though...the car reeked for a long time but now it either doesn’t anymore or I’m used to it...

I gotta say...I love my Bug. We spend many happy hours out in the shop as a family working on it. Sometimes a lot gets done all at once, sometimes a little bit over a long time. I really love it.

Many parts (at least early ones) are interchangeable.

My ‘62 B was missing the backup light cover. My obsolete parts dealer didn’t have one in stock. The price would have been about $25 bucks.

He said to try a wrecking yard for early 70’s Vanagon back up lights. I found one. It was a match. It cost $5.00.

I read somewhere that the car of choice by terrorist was a VW.

Not suitable for terrorism, according to the company (the Polo model, at least):

I heard that ... bummer about the Miata, it handles like a dream and is affordable, unlike its upscale copies.

Only exception is a 1985 or earlier version. Then you’re a poor ski bum.

Nice!

I have a 1996 Ford Aerostar. I got it because I intended to have a whole bunch of rescued greyhounds and thought it would be good to haul them around in. We had one already and then she nearly bit my son’s face off. So we abandoned the idea of a bunch of greyhounds and I was kinda stuck with this car that I don’t really like.

The rack and pinion on it stinks. I’ve had to replace it twice and I can tell it’s gonna need it again. I hate that because I’d rather fork over that money to restore my old Bug!
