I was listening to the Laura Ingraham radio show today and they were talking about how some cars are girly cars and some are manly cars. Laura was particularly mentioning that the Mazda Miata was a girly car. This was news to me. Her assisitant chimed in with saying the Mazda 3 was a girly car. This was also news to me. I'm in the market for a new car and was thinking of buying the MAzda 3 or a Miata. I've been told that the 3 has fewer service issues than other Mazda cars.
Of course one would gather that the manly cars would be trucks.
One girly car I've noticed is the VW Beetle. I've never seen a man driving one of those.
What do Freepers think? What cars are girly cars and what cars are manly cars.
LOL! And they all have 30-something passengers!!
Guess it’s a good thing I’m a girl since I own both a new beetle and a miata. Of all the cars I’ve owned over the years, these two are my favorites-very fun to drive.
Looks really cool, though.
Guess that makes me a dyke. Oh well, there are worse things for a dude.
Right... The GTO was a woman's car... And the F Bodies (Firebirds)?
Mark
Dude. The anything I can load in the back of my truck is a girly car. I can stack two Miata’s without having to tie it down.
Toaster Car
Where do you get that work done, Sweden?
How much more manly can you get than the Chrysler emblem:
While my 300M was in the shop being repaired from being rear-ended by a Freightliner last month, I had to drive this Pontiac Vibe... a girly car if I ever drove one:
As I drove it, more and more it reminded me of WindowsXP while my 300M is more like a Mac... on the Vibe the controls are there, just not in logical places.
It just wasn't as well thought out, UI wise, as my 300M.
For example, the radio/CD has two identically sized, unlighted knobs about an inch apart... one is the volume/switch, the other is the tuner... reach for it at night to turn it down, and you will have a 50/50 chance of grabbing the tuner and losing your station. Air conditioning controls are in three different places... and don't get me started on the windshield wiper control or the cruise control...
Vibe's disorganized dashboard controls...
The Overdrive is switched off by a "convenient" button... that just happens to fall next to one's thumb when shifting... and is absurdly easy to switch OFF... and at highway speeds that can be very disconcerting as the car shifts out of O/D to third.
Oh, and if you steer in a manly one-handed style with a man-sized hand, you are likely to beep the horn at unexpected, inopportune times.
The keychain remote gives no audible feedback on locking or unlocking. One click unlocks ONLY the driver's door... it takes two clicks to open all doors but if you are too fast or too slow, they don't unlock. Very frustrating.
The Power window controls work backwards.
See? Its a Windows car...
After driving the Vibe for 28 days, I was elated to get back behind the wheel of my now new looking Chrysler 300M... $6300 in repairs later.
My wife drives a full tilt ‘04 Durango, and loves it. She traded her worn out ‘94 Dodge Ram pickup on it. Jus’ don’ mess with da lady.
There's no replacement for displacement!
Thats a ferrari testalossa!
I drive a VW New Beetle and I’m not a girl. They call it a “chick car” but I don’t feel in the least less of man because I drive it. Its a fun little car.
Anything called “a fun little car” is a “chick car.”
That was you? hehe
The really did look cool!
Factory air??
I wish.
