VIRGINIA BEACH - Because one Hispanic person is accused of causing a tragic accident, Monica Restrepo said, she now frets that many will be judged and be the brunt of insults.
"We're very worried about what's going to happen to all of us in the community," said Restrepo, who owns the decade-old La Tapatia, believed to be one of the first Latin American grocery stores in the city.
Restrepo and other local Hispanics this week expressed their sympathy for the families of two Virginia Beach girls killed in a car crash March 30. But they also couldn't mask their concern over a possible backlash against both legal and illegal immigrants.
They fear that because of Alfredo Ramos, people will categorize all Hispanics as drunken drivers and unauthorized immigrants. Ramos, 22, is charged with aggravated involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of Alison Kunhardt, 17, and Tessa Tranchant, 16. He had a record of three alcohol-related convictions in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake and had entered the country from Mexico illegally.
Many Hispanics said the public response to the incident has been incorrectly centered on Ramos' immigration status instead of on drunken-driving laws and penalties.

You are getting distracted by the unimportant stuff. O'Reilly is entertaining not because he's fearless and loud, but because he takes on the issues the rest of the press wont cover. That's O'Reilly's true value, policing the media and forcing society to do the right thing.

Just this morning, I kid you not, my husband asked me why I watched O'Reilly if I didn't like him that much. I told him it was because he covered stories that nobody else would and had guests that no other show invited.

We agree that he is valuable ... I just think that he is full of himself to a fault. He had to interject something about himself into nearly every debate -- even when it adds nothing to the conversation.

The government employees are only following the directives of our President.
This is about enforcing our immigration laws, not just drunk driving. This specific illegal would not have killed these two girls had he been deported on one of his earlier run-ins with the law.
“Illegal aliens, not “undocumented aliens,” are killing American men, women and children at a faster rate than American soldiers are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. When you combine criminal killings and auto accidents (drunk driving, speeding, or both), illegal aliens are killing Americans at twice the rate of war deaths, at least.”

By the way, I don't know what anyone else thinks about it, but boy, I really hate to be called "white!"
I wonder how the hell this guy is still in the country after three DUI convictions!!! I further wonder if he had to pay a fine, do community service, or had jail time. How could he be illegal and have a legal driver's license?
I hope the families take the City of Virginia Beach to the cleaners. I hope it would be stipulated that the judges/politicians - the ones involved in the illegal alien's previous DUI scenarios - have to pay the bill, rather than the award amount being dumped onto the taxpayers.

The two girls would still be alive if this person had stayed in his home country.
He was here illegally. Our government is not defending our borders.
Maybe if they had used the front door like all of the respected immigrants that have comprised US history before they wouldn’t have to be as nervous as whores at Sunday service now.
Uh, I would like to become an ‘unauthorized immigrant’ to your country please. Oh, you don’t allow that? Well, well, I guess the U.S. is the only country that has to allow ‘unauthorized immigrants’ because, well, you know, we are such a bad country and would be criticized if we didn’t allow ‘unauthorized’ immigrants.
