The journey continues.
Gina’s hemoglobin dropped to 7, pre op she was 12. No wonder she was passing out every time she was upright. Lost almost half of her blood volume.
They finally gave her the 2 units of blood that family donated. Hemoglobin popped back to 10 and she was able to get out of bed and walk 3 times yesterday.
Her pathology report came back: Synovial Sarcoma...This is really bizarre. It is a joint tissue but her tumor wasn’t in a joint. It was in the fleshy part of her thigh.
They did a repeat CT scan yesterday of her chest and pelvis.
She had a “suspicious spot” on her lung on the one done before surgery. The “suspicious spot” was slightly larger.
The Surgeon said, “you have to assume it is malignant until you can prove that it is not”. He has called a Thoracic consult.
She has another surgery in her future for the lung. We don’t know at this point if it will be something simple like a endoscopic procedure or if it will be an open chest thing.
She will have to have radiation and chemotherapy.
She has displayed remarkable courage and resilience through all of this.
Her son graduates tomorrow. I don’t know if she will be discharged by then but I talked one of her Surgeons to agreeing to a pass from the hospital for long enough to attend as long as she is medically stable enough to get away for a few hours.
Heavenly Father, source of life and hope, grant my sister Gina healing from this illness. Knit her limbs strongly and free of this malignancy.
Lord Jesus, through your life and death you know human suffering, in your infinite compassion and mercy, heal her suffering, restore her to her family, and grant her the grace to grow in compassion.
Succor her family through this trial.

Father God, Lord of the universe, grace of our lives,
You can do ANYTHING, and I ask You to go to Gina and lay Your healing hands on every place in her that needs healing, driving out anything that opposes health and wellness. Comfort and strengthen her and her family. Guide her doctors and medical team. Let only light and health surround her. Cheer her so that her spirit doesn’t flag. Keep her and her whole family focused on the goal of full restoration and healing. Thank You, God, that You care for us more than we know. Shed Your love abroad in Gina’s and her family’s hearts. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
Ugh!! That is not good news. Tonight when I say the Rosary with my small group I will ask that we pray for Gina and her entire family when we recite the Fourth Sorrowful Mystery,Christ carrying His Cross. I will also remember her daily in my own prayers.
God Bless Gina. Continued prayers for her, you and the rest of her family.
Lord Jesus, through your life and death you know human suffering, in your infinite compassion and mercy, heal her suffering, restore her to her family, and grant her the grace to grow in compassion.
Succor her family through this trial.
Amen.
Oh, Tas. Amen to your prayer for Gina, and dear Heavenly Father, please bless her doctors and keep them within Your providence. Help them to make the right decisions, in the time frame needed to accomplish the most good, and guide the surgeons hands to remove all of the harmful area in Gina’s lung. Please bless and strengthen Gina mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Help the medicines administered to be exactly what is needed to rid her body of all that is causing her harm, and bless her body to respond as needed to accomplish it. Please surround her within Your merciful, healing power, and please bless her family, dear Father, with your comforting, strengthening presence as they go through this difficult time together with their loved one. In Jesus’ Holy and precious name, Amen.
Tas,how kind of you to pray for my bil when you are faced with far greater concerns about your sister! Thank you. He was making good progress when I last heard from him.
