Steve Forbes, former Republican presidential candidate, President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes, and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes magazine has endorsed Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States. Mr. Forbes will serve as a National Campaign Co-Chair and Senior Policy Advisor:
I am honored to support Rudy Giuliani for President, Steve Forbes said. As Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani showed how exercising fiscal discipline including tax cuts lowers deficits, spurs economic growth, and increases revenue. It is time the rest of the country benefit from a true fiscal conservative leader who gets real results.
Steve and I share an economic vision that embraces supply-side economics, tax relief, and spending restraint, said Mayor Giuliani. I look forward to working with Steve and am proud to have him as a member of our team.
Nice addition, as those of us who value economic liberty certainly look to Mr. Forbes as a leader on that front.
It was a seven-week sabbatical.
I seem to be back, however (if I'm logged on, I mean).
I hope you put your time to good use!
:<)
Well it's a financial network.
He mentioned different areas where Giuliani was and would be "great". Including taxes.
Abortion, Guns and Gays didn't come up. I can't imagine why. I've read that they are the only issues important when picking a President.
For example. In the Iran hostage situation, are either the Brits or the Iranians holding them, Gay?
Well, we all have issues, I guess.
That's pretty much the reaction I have too :-)
Man - you exactly nailed it. Exactly.
well welcome back. give my best to your darling bride as well.
They are irrelevant because they are solely based on name recognition and because a large percentage of perspective voters don't know what flaming liberal Giuliani is.
If it were only that. But there are far more problems with Rudy.
Rudy's made the following contributions to the WOT:
Failed to replace emergency radios after problems with the NYC system became clearly apparent during the first WTC attacks.
Sited the ECC in the WTC despite strong misgivings from emergency professionals - concerns that were borne out by 9-11.
Pushed a corrupt crony for the most important anti-terror job in the country.
So pardon us for being concerned about his social positions AND his lack of fitness to lead this country.
I guess Forbes joins Ted Olson now as being too liberal.
If the clinton's get back into the white house in 2008 - there won't be a country left to "take back" in 2016.
LOL.
Oh, I'm watching in absolute amazement at the people being thrown under the bus for their support of Rudy. Never before has a party self destructed so quickly.
if you'd like to debate the radio issue - the requirements the uniformed services have for how they want these radios to work, are impossible to meet, that's why they still don't have them. its certainly not lack of money.
I will. Thanks.
*snort*
Which only means that Thompson has "surged" in the polls because of the "Law and Order" vote.
You can post any mistake a fallible human being may have made.
The bottom line for me, unlike you, is that I lived in NYC before and through most of the Giuliani Administration. I experienced him, peeks and valleys, good and bad, warts and all, and in sum I trust him to be the chief executive of the United States like no one else who has even fantasied running for the office in 2008.
If the perfect human being shows up to run, with a resume of proven accomplishments, I may reevaluate my support.
In other words, unless the Messiah shows up and gets into the race, for me it's Giuliani.
Self destructing? We are having the kinda of debate that should be had in a primary. Which direction to go. GOP conservative platform or something "more inclusive".
So Rudy is such a strong leader, he was unable to overcome such bureacratic obstacles to getting key infrastructure in place?
BWAHAHAHA!
Other than a DU Buzzword?
Come on Tell us...
