Steve Forbes Joins Giuliani Campaign

Steve Forbes, former Republican presidential candidate, President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes, and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes magazine has endorsed Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States. Mr. Forbes will serve as a National Campaign Co-Chair and Senior Policy Advisor:

“I am honored to support Rudy Giuliani for President,” Steve Forbes said. “As Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani showed how exercising fiscal discipline – including tax cuts – lowers deficits, spurs economic growth, and increases revenue. It is time the rest of the country benefit from a true fiscal conservative leader who gets real results.”

“Steve and I share an economic vision that embraces supply-side economics, tax relief, and spending restraint,” said Mayor Giuliani. “I look forward to working with Steve and am proud to have him as a member of our team.”

Nice addition, as those of us who value economic liberty certainly look to Mr. Forbes as a leader on that front.

“no he's just not a religious nutjob... He puts Fiscal Conservatism before ANY other issue... instead of Bush who turns a blind eye to outrageous socialist big government spending (i still wonder why the dems don't like Bush, he spends just as much as any other democrat)... “

I agree with you, but I am just leery of anybody getting close to Ruddy. My reasoning is, it appears all the money power people that crammed Bush down our throats are now behind Ruddy so he can continue Bush’s disastrous give away of our United States.

Over 6 years ago, Forbes looked like a variable candidate only because of the pack of morons against whom he was running. This included Bush. Bush is a moron today, and he was a moron then. Among those running, I considered Dr. Keyes as our only salvation for our country. But it wasn’t to be.

My best regares.

The wailing and gnashing of teeth will be incredible when the bloom is off the rose.

Rudy is just another Hillary who wears dresses more often.

If "she" takes the oath in 2009, all of us who post on FR better run for cover, because her people will come after their opposition who have blasted them for so long on the Internet.

Like I said, you social Ayatollahs need to calm down. Most American voters don't want the Government telling us what to think and do in our private lives. Low taxes, less government, and strong national security=Reaganism+election victories.

Republicans lost in 2006 because of out of control spending, a perception that we were unable to protect the country (especially at the border), and that a pervasive culture of corruption and dishonesty had overtaken our elected officials. All the social rhetoric in the world could not save us.

I frankly could care less about 90% of the stuff on your list, and I doubt if many other voters do either.

Fiscal conservatism, less government intervention in our lives, and public security-that is what wins elections.

I sourced here already. Mike Signorile covered Forbes at Log Cabin conventions at his site, signorile.com.

So how does that make Forbes a member of the Log Cabin Republicans? (see my post #95)

Steve Forbes also went through the qualification process for endorsement in 1999. Rich Tafel assigned a political advisor to Forbes campaign that had faithfully attended Log Cabin briefings while Forbes was still campaigning.

Another mendacious point--how about a cite for your allegation? Your #96 has nothing to do with Forbes or his father. You keep trying to smear Forbes as gay, but have nothing but your silly divinations as evidence.

Interference???? Can you even read?

Hows this for INTERFERENCE:

Mandating no smoking policies for restuarants, suing tobacco companies for supplying a legal product, suing the gun manufacturers for supplying a legal product, enacting onerous gun control laws on NY citizens, mandating the gov't pay for poor women's abortions, illegal random search and siezures (overturned buy courts), illegal confiscation of property of acquitted induviduals, mandatory condemns in school, telling the military to accept openly gay servicemenbers, champion of hate crimes legislation, mandating money for illegal alien welfare.

He's interfering all right, in the most vile, leftist way imaginable.

You are doing a fine job smearing Forbes yourself. Keep in mind Forbes has already knocked Signorile on his ass. I doubt he would have trouble extending you the same favor.

The West Indians have a wonderful saying: “Roach don't business in foul fight.”

The rest of us need to keep out of this, or we will be gobbled up like a roach among fighting birds.

Are you admitting you lied about him being a Log Cabin Republican?

I didn't lie. Forbes himself quoted to CNN about his meeting with them for endorsement in 1999.

Everything else you are posting is out of line, IMO.

Who are you? Libby Post?

So where's the cite? BTW now Forbes is "meeting with [the log cabins]" while before you say he's "a Log Cabin." Your duplicitousness is fully noted.

Everything else you are posting is out of line, IMO.

I'm just quoting your own bullshiite . . . you've fooled enough good guys on this forum with your whackjob "research" Do you even read the stuff you post?

Fiscal conservatism, less government intervention in our lives, and public security

Those are top issues for me this election. I want to see this country get back to promoting self-government - personal liberty and personal responsibility - including the freedom to screw up and outright fail and keep government out of our lives as much as possible.
