Did anybody else watch CSI Miami on Monday night? It was a repeat...The case is mainly about a Marine recruiter who is found dead... At the end, it turns that he really was not murdered...He hit his head hard on a concrete barrier.
A guy confronted the recruiter because he got rejected. (A security risk...His parents were from Middle East.) The recruiter guy was semiconscious in the vehicle...(He was taking some painkiller...He was stressed over some of Marines, he recruited, getting killed in Iraq.) The rejected guy took him out of vehicle and he fell...
The episode was not too bad...At the start of the show, I was wondering if this would be one of those military-bashing episode. I must say this episode was "balanced".
OK...There was one Marine guy who was distraught over his brother's death in Iraq. (Both in the same unit.) That guy sent a hate letter to the deceased recruiter. Later, he tells Lt. Horatio that the recruiter promised that both he and his brother will make much money in the service...(I guess the guy was really distraught.)
By the way, a civilian contractor accidentally shot the guy's brother...
Emily Proctor character tells the guy, who covered up the death of the Marine recruiter, that Marines don't need people who cover up...

LOL. I'm sure the real Marines can handle themselves without Emily Procter's expert military guidance. I mean, I like the way she handles guns and all, but she's still just an actress.
I usually like this show..
But I turned this one off tonight..
I felt it was heading for the military, Iraq war bashing..
I figured she wasn't your archetypical Hollywood lib at the very least. Hell, she's the reason why CSI: Miami is the only network show I watch. :)
LOL. Well, it's good to hear that there's a conservative brain under that blonde hair.
Looks like you were wrong. What a shame that you have that kind of outlook on life. Loom and Gloom. /sarc.
Like you, I thought the same thing before I watched it, so needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe the show's producers went out of their way to not make it a leftist screed, I don't know, but it could have been a lot worse and it wasn't.
if you go to CBS.com, you can stream it. The entire episode. Personally, I almost never watch CSI: Miami. That Horatio guy tries to seem tough bu lowering his voice, but it just makes him look stupid.
Yeah, Caruso overacts shamelessly. But Emily Proctor... oh my! A sweet southern belle with high heels and handguns. If that ain't the perfect woman, it's darn close.

You are correct SIR!
Are you aware of the David Caruso/CSI-Miami Drinking Game? It's pretty popular among college students I've heard.
Every time DC says an eye-rollingly bad one-liner, take a drink. Take two drinks if he takes off/puts on his sunglasses while saying the line.
Same here: CSI Miami is the only one I watch also. I used to watch CSI but I finally had a gut full of Catherine Willows' potty mouth and pushy attitude. I think Callie is the last polite, decent woman on TV.
You know what kept going through my head throughout this show? I wish I'd had good enough knees and a strong enough body to become a Marine (4-F). There is nothing like a Marine dress blue uniform.
I think you misspoke. She's not an actress. She's a GODDESS!
BTW, does he have some degenerative back disease? It seems like he physically leans to one side all the time, and it's getting worse. Pretty soon, he'll look like Marty Feldman with his moving hump.
This brand of CSI is pretty absurd, but it's pretty straightforward as far as the good guys are the good guys, and not all "conflicted" like most cop shows these days. I'm not surprised they at least treated the war effort with some respect.
Good looking people and bright colors make it watchable for some mindless fun. Sure beats the execrable "Cold Case".
Caruso tries to do his best Jack Lord imitation (BTW Season 1 of Hawaii Five-O is available on DVD), but doesn't quite have the gravitas to pull it off.
Chuck Norris/Walker, Texas Ranger drinking game! Take a drink every time Walker kicks someone in the head. Take two drinks if he delivers a cheesy one-liner before or after doing it.
