In response to the democrats passing their ANTI-TROOP bill, President Bush made a statement from the White House, vowing to veto it. “… [this bill] has no chance of becoming law.” Accompanying the president were members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, families of deployed service members and families of those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. (Transcript)

Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice met with the Iraq Provincial Reconstruction Team at the State Department.

Press Secretary Tony Snow made an announcement about his health at the end of today’s press briefing. (Transcript)

On a lighter note, President and Mrs. Bush welcomed the family of former President Johnson to the Oval Office for the naming of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Department of Education Building. (Click here for more information)

President Bush was also joined in the White House today by Archbishop Demetrios for the proclamation of March 25, 2007 as National Greek Independence Day, “A National Day of Celebration of Greek and American Democracy”. (Transcript)

I didn't see anyone answer this, so I did a search. Lynda Robb is still married to Charles Robb. If she put up with his shenanigans, it was the same thing her mother did.

Luci Baines Johnson divorced Patrick Nugent, I think when her father was still alive. She is married to a Canadian named Ian Turpin now, and still goes by the Johnson name.

I never liked LBJ, never liked anything about him. President Bush does so much to see the troops and thank them for their service, I really appreciate that. It is one of the things I appreciate the most about him. My husband was in the military in the Johnson administration, and Johnson never visited the troops, or went to Walter Reed, nothing, never thanked them for their service or visited military bases to see the men in uniform. There were a lot of things about Johnson that were despicable, and President Bush is in stark contrast to LBJ.

Johnson had no good character.

I'm thinking it was a set up. They WANTED to get kicked out so they could sue and push their issue!

Sorry I did not get back to you last night but dad did not have op yesterday they did another Xray because the consultant is having difficulty deciding what to do about the hip and wanted to see if he could get a clearer view.

Still not clear enough and they want to do a bone scan so he can decide on how he will repair the hip either pin or replace and from the Xray cannot tell which is best .

Bone scanner does not operate again until Monday so will not have any news before then.

My friend picked me from the hospital ysterday and then we had a bite to eat and he insisted I went to bed because I was felling asleep in the chair. Weill check in again tonight but hopefully am gong out for a meal laer so will be later than normal.

Love
Eleanor

Thanks for doing this. I want to ask a question of anyone on this thread. Has anyone ever gotten sick from eating a salad in a restaurant?

I often get headaches from restaurant salads. I don't know if it's what they spray on the lettuce or what it is. I also have some serious food intolerances/allergies, like gluten, corn, and dairy which seem to be in everything, that I rarely eat out any more. Even when I order food that seems like it would be "safe" for me I end up with a reaction. You just don't know what they do with your food, or what they put on it, back in that kitchen! :)

jonny, i received this e-mail from a friend of a friend. thought you could ping the dosers to it....

This happened at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Enterprise, AL
>
> There is a man at Ridgecrest who is an ABI officer. He got up last night and told us about having the honor of being paired with one of the secret service men who were with President Bush Saturday in Enterprise. He said when they started walking through the rubble at the school they came upon four students waiting for the President. They were in an area where on the floor there was a emblem that read EHS Class of 65. When the President approached the students he asked which one of you is the president (I assume president of the student body)? One of of the girls kind of raised her hand and said I am then she hung her head and started to cry. President Bush wrapped his arms around her and the other three joined them. Barry, the ABI officer said President Bush started to cry and said "It's tough being the president isn't it." Barry said he talked with them a little longer. He said he was very close to the President but couldn't hear every word that was spoken, but he could te
ll that the President was quoting scripture. After a while the President started walking again and said he wanted the emblem preserved whatever it took. The Mayor then spoke up and said they would take care of it and President Bush turned to him and said "I was speaking to the President." I bet that the Mayor closed his mouth then!!! and then President Bush said "by the way where are my children"? The four students who were lagging behind came running up to him and walked the rest of the way over to the church with him. The media were sent to a different area Barry said. When President Bush got inside the church to meet with the families of those that had been killed the secret serviceman turned to Barry and said this is as far as we go. This is his time with them. Barry then asked him if the President was protected and the secret servicemen said yes, he is protected, but not by us. Barry could hardly contain himself as he was telling us this last night. He said he told the
secret service man that he wished everyone could witness what he just did then they could see that the most powerful man in the United States was just another human being, a father, a comforter, a friend and had true compassion for these people. However the media does not portrait that, big surprise! Of course I don't tell this story with the humility that Barry did because he was there, but I thought you might like to hear it. You might want to share it with Paul and Kim.

Thanks for that wonderful post last night...I am sorry I missed it then.

Maybe you could bring the same link to the Sunday Talk Show thread tomorrow...I know a lot of the freepers on that thread would love to see it.

Did you see my post on the thread with the pictures of Nancy Pelosi and Murtha celebrating??

I got even more angry looking at those pictures..and on one post, I pretty much instructed freepers to sear those pics in their minds..because those people are the enemy as much as Islamofacsists...and we are at WAR with them as well...

Yesterday, for ME was the "shot" that sealed it for me...those people have declared war.

This looks like an excellent read for more information on the culture clash between islam and Christianity.

Thought you might wish to explore it.
