Tony's doctors have detected a growth of some kind. He will have surgery on Monday. They are not saying that this is or is not cancer. Please be so kind as to offer your prayers, your support for this good man.
Sofaman!! good to see you! You summed things up perfectly....Tony IS a Class Act!
Isn't a lesion like an sore? What I want to know is what about the lump they detected in his abdomen that they went into surgery to remove and that is when they found the liver cancer?
It is true that remarkable advances have been and are being made.
Tony is no quitter. I believe he can beat this.
On another thread a poster said, "If he can beatdown Helen Thomas daily, then he can beat cancer no problem!"
I don't know who said it, but I'm still LMAO over it!
Tony just put my knee in perspective. I'm never going to complain again! It's fine thanks, kiddo..
Dr. Manny Alvarez is a "Fox News contributor", a staff doctor at the Fox News Channel who comments about general ailments, etc. But I must stress - Dr Alvarez is NOT Tony Snow's personal doctor. He was just giving his opinion on the general facts that we know of regarding Tony Snow's current situation.
FReeper ShayTex was so kind to post this synopsis of what Dr. Manny Alvarez said this morning regarding what he knows of Tony Snow's condition:
Just heard Dr. Manny Alvarez on Fox News talking about Tony's diagnosis. He sounded more positive than I expected. It sounded like liver cancer that spreads from colon cancer is different than cancer that starts in the liver. He said it is not uncommon that when colon cancer metastizes it spreads to the liver. He said that because they have been monitoring him very often and that the lesion is small that should be treatable. They removed the lesion and will analyze the type of cells and then decide what type of chemo. He said they can deliver treatment right into the liver at the site of the lesion. He said it is very possible that Tony will again be in remission. I hope he is right.
hey kiddo!
Y'know, you're probably right, retrokitten. :o)
hey kiddo!
We might not know each other's faces or proper names, but we know each other. :-)
Tony has such a fantastic sense of humor, not to mention great delivery! Can't help but think that will help!
nutmeg & zelig
Thanks for the clarification, and the info, nutmeg. Most appreciated!
Tony is upbeat, Griff is, it appears that those around him are, the doctors interviewed are, and we have to be as well.
No wallowing in sadness. Only good thoughts and prayers for the Snowman from here on. G-d knows, he's soldiering on with a smile. The least we could do is the same thing....and keep praying.
Right now, I'd like to give Tony a big wet kiss right on his bald spot and tell him that there are smiles and prayers from a whole boatload of folks here at FR.
Prayers offered for Tony's complete recovery from this growth.
"And amazing how many of us, unknown to each other, come together for support."
These threads are like a family reunion......and Tony is the one who brought many of us together in the first place.
hey D...always a pleasure to see our "Payroll Diva"....
