they should consider filing suit against the president and many of the faculty of Duke University as well.

I see this as a no-brainer.

The Duke administration and the "80 professors" should be getting their presciptions for Xanax and Ambien filled right about now.

They are going to have very difficult futures.

Duke has already started to deal with some repercussions from this. Applications to the school were down something like 20% last year, and their reputation is in the toilet right now.

If I were one of these kids I'd sue the school for the value of its entire endowment, then offer to settle for a minimal amount if the school agreed to move its entire campus out of Durham, NC.

I'm with you on Duke. NO ONE should send a kid there, and the university should be driven into bankruptcy for its despicable actions in this "case."

Too bad the guys lives were ruined in the process. They can never get their lives back

They should argue that in court, but in practice I don't think it's true.

I wouldn't recognize any of their names.

And, we should expect charges against the accuser, WHEN?

Personally, I think Nifong should have recognized from the beginning that he was dealing with a young woman with a personality disorder of some type. If properly handled at the beginning, she would have gotten the proper care, and he would have brought no charges against anyone.

Now, his personal ambition has injured these players as well as this woman.

Let the lawsuits begin. And rightly so.

The "accuser", Nifong, the professors, and hopefully Duke itself will learn a financial lesson never to be forgotten.

You can bet these kids will have pit bull attorneys who will follow the money. And there is a lot of money to go after. Given how badly these kids lives were damaged, the jury awards against these spineless dirtbags will, hopefully, set new records.

I read that Duke has seen a significant decrease in applications, something on the order of 10%. Not nearly enough, but a good start. When my kids were college shopping they were very much put off by Duke. Several people we know who went to Duke have stopped giving them money because they're disgusted with the administration and the general atmosphere there.

Nah, I'd go for the endowment.

The behavior of Duke administrators and its tenured faculty was unspeakably vicious. They should be utterly destroyed.

Nifong deserves to be in JAIL for his conduct in this case, as well as having everything he owns taken away from him.

If Nifong thought he could get this case through a court of law, it speqaks to more than mere ambition.

It's some sort of venal insanity.

CNN's Nancy Grace will probably sue if this does happen. She convicted the boys on the first day, and can't be proved wrong by some dumb 'ole legal system.

I agree.

I don't think it's a coincidence that their basketball team exited in the First Round of the NCAA tournament this year.

About damned time. Now who's going to reimburse the families for the huge debt they've incurred for legal bills?

I truly do believe that Nifong has a mental disorder.

His actions AFTER his re-election was ensured, knowing the information that he knew about this case, are deranged.

I stopped giving them money after Terry Sanford and his presidential privilege admission list was revealed just prior to Sandford using Duke to land in the US Senate.

Duke's Sanford was the original Terrible Terry RAT liberal Democrat until Terry McAwful managed to replace him with his Global Crossing, Clintanoid-shilling and DNC shenanigans.
