Militaristic zeal appears to be sweeping the Stephen Harper Minority government. This militarism is just part of an apparent adopted agenda of 'Americanization' by this government. By the way, thanks so much Mr. Harper, for introducing Canadians to American-style reviews of Supreme Court Judge nominees. You and your associates in CanWest Global, and elsewhere in Canada's 'corporatized' mass-media, appear to be trying to "prepare" us for their apparently desired U.S. take-over of Canada. While Harper stipulates that this initiative was about "accountability", he reportedly shirks the kind of ethics review on which he had campaigned.
The spectre of Americanization against our national identity
It is indeed apparent that Mr. Harper's idea of so-called 'progress', is to make Canada a cultural, economic and political colony of the United States. To him and his government, this appears to include a desire to stir-up some kind of transplanted branch plant militarism in Canada. This strategy, is being executed with the support of jingoistic mentalities among Conservative Party Big Business allies in the media. However, arguably, his government's apparent militaristic agenda is a betrayal of our very national character; and maturation as a society. Such an agenda -- though being inconsistent with the objectives of his puppet masters south of the border -- may not be supported by the majority of Canadians.

The Mackenzie Brothers' crazy uncle?
And that's despite the liberal media doing everything they can to swing the numbers the other way. I watch that ctv morning news show. Sometimes it looks like that liberal crybaby Shamass Oregan is about to break down and cry because Harper is doing so well.
Here's hoping that happens. My understanding has been that Harper and the Tories have fairly strong support in much of the country, but are weakest in Ontario and Quebec, liberal bastions whose large populations and dependence on the Federal Government to support them help secure the Canadian welfare state. There but for the grace of the Electoral College go we.
If I see one more car with a "Save Darfur" bumper sticker right next to a "No War" bumper sticker, I'm breaking out the 3 iron..
And, for the record, I certainly wasn't referring to all Canadians as "babies". The boys in Afghanistan have shown that they have nothing to prove in that regard. Best shooters in the world right now, and that's hard for an East Kentucky native to say.
Googled for him, but no joy.
From the sound of his "progressive" scheisspeilen, I'm afraid he's not really Canadian at all, but just another of the hippies who went there in the 70's.....
Wonder when I'm going to feel that I can finally stop apologizing to Canuks for that bunch of turkeys....especially the ones that stayed there.
What a hoser!
What absolute crap! Do they realize that winning a Nobel Peace Prize puts Lester Pearson in the same camp as Yasser Arafat, who resorted to terrorism? What amazes me is that semi-educated (I may be going a bit far here in using the term semi-educated), semi-literate, insecure people fall for such nonsense. What is alarming is that such people want to dictate to the rest of the world via the likes of Maurice Strong and the very much discredited United Nations. The rest of the world is indebted to Stephen Harper for standing against such nonsense.
LOL!
Do you have any idea how many people are willing the sign a petition to ban Dihydrogen Monoxide?
LOL!
I don't know what it is but I think there are plenty if it will cure this group's objectives.
