(IsraelNN.com) More than 7,000 French Jews have signed a petition asking for political asylum in the United States because of anti-Semitism in France. The petition makes pointed reference to the murder of Ilan Halimi, a 23-year-old Parisian Jew who was kidnapped and tortured to death last year by an anti-Semitic gang, and says that "following the barbarous murder of a young Jew because he was Jewish, in the context of the rise in anti-Semitic acts committed by Islamic fundamentalists, numerous members of the community no longer feel safe in France."
The petition was sent to the U.S. Congress and asks it to enact a law according French Jews refugee status.
Some French Jewish leaders were outraged: "This petition is bizarre, stupid and out of place," said Chaim Musicant, director of CRIF, the umbrella organization of secular French Jewish groups.
The French troops sent to Afghanistan were support troops, not combat, numbering 1900. Don't have the breakdown, but included women.
French Special Forces troops, about 200, were active in combat roles during Operation Anaconda.
I believe that they were recalled last year and that there is no longer a French presence there, although there might be a reduced presence for training of Afghan troops.

I'm a big supporter of Israel, and I have been for many years. I resent that our Government restrains them so much in the WOT, and a lot more.
That said, once a Jew "aliyahs" to Israel, they should not be voting in American elections. Allowing that is insanity, well at least unreasonable.

Is George Bush a socialist? He is advocating an amnesty that would bring in another 20 million Mexicans. During Ronald Reagan's term, he gave amnesty to at least 10 million. Was he a socialist? It is not only the liberal (socialist/communist) DemocRATs that want the illegals to run accross our borders, big business wants cheap labor to make bigger profits and destroy the unions.
Are you following the case of the two border patrol agents serving 12 year sentences in Federal prison for shooting an illegal alien? It is George Bush's justice dept. that went after these men and ruined them. Is this socialism?
I like many things about our President George W. Bush,
But i think he is horribly wrong in his approach to our border and immigration policies, aned that he is doing us great harm with his inaction, and willful ignorance if the problems.

Compared to what, Moslems that have multiple wives and 20 children? Even in traditional Christian homes of yesteryear, women were never forced to produce children like this. Even if Europe recaptured its Christian roots and women stopped having abortions, and stayed home and had more babies, they would never equal the birth rate of the Islamists. Christians cannot compete with the religious equivalent of Hitler unless they go to war. Europeans are faced with an ugly reality that they have a violent group in their midst that will out breed them and attack them all along the way.

These 7000 are the canaries in the mine. Stop and think how serious it is for 7000 people to recognize the danger the future holds and to make this request. I understand it is too dangerous for Jews to wear a Star of David or anything else that would identify them as Jews.
The world is changing rapidly....I doubt it will wait for 2008.
I know the two men who killed him were convicted and I think serving life. However,they found Namblia? material in one of the perps car and the parents were suing Namblia?,claiming that the material triggered the attack. The court hassling was still going on last I heard. I was hoping the parents might prevail. Think I will go Google it.
