From the NY Post:
DAN Quayle, who flies into New York one week a month from Indianapolis for his work with Cerberus, at San Pietro, predicting to Nancy and Bill O’Shaughnessy that Mitt Romney will win the GOP nomination for president…
When one is motivated "INSPIRATION" is never over the hill!
There are INspirational things, and there are EXpirational things. Most of them are expirational.
So now Peggy's useless? No one uttered that statement when Vin Weber and Jack Kemp joined the Romney campaign, and both are further beyond their prime than Peggy. What an ugly, chauvinistic thing to say.
When Ann Coulter's Peggy's age will she also be way past her prime?
Well that explains it you are absolute secular, so why should you expect more from inspiration!
Ann already is. Ditto for Kemp and Weber. In every profession there is an acme period. For theoretical physicists, for example, it is their late 20s and 30s. The same notion, but with different numbers, applies to the PR types like Peggy and Ann, to [retired] politicians and think-tankers like Kemp and Gingrich, and so forth. There is nothing either ugly or chauvinistic in all of this - just a statement of the fact. One of the earlier records [1463] of the same concept was Villon's "lament of the fair armoress", where an old prostitute rued the passage of years.
I didn't think that is where GSlob was going, what a self center dolt!
why, I still can get enspirited and inspired, but the firewater quality better be GOOD!
Pardon me all but this man is a pig!
Do you have anything of substance to say?
No she's not, and she's got a ways to go. Plenty of the infuential people in the conservative movement are YEARS older than she is, some of them having gotten started in their late forties, early fifties. It is in fact, one of the fields where one's age is not as important.
Yep, I was referring to the article stating that Quayle came out in support. Ouch, that's really gonna hurt his chances. Not that Quayle is bad, but his reputation precedes him.
"That comparison -- Quayle/Gore-- is pretty lame"
No kidding - and the hatred of Dan Quayle on a conservative board is amazing. What I remember most about Quayle is that if Bush 41 had listened to him he'd probably have won re-election and we'd have been spared 8 years of Bill Clinton. And now to learn that so many Free Republic posters really agreed with their counterparts on Democratic Underground. Amazing - wonder what else we'll discover they admire about DU in the future?
One could "have ways to go"- i.e. be not yet finished - and be past one's prime at the same time. A really good exhibit of this statement is our glorious Congress. People do not drop dead on reaching their acmes, at least they normally do not.
And BTW, the acme notion exists both for a profession and for an individual. But the basic picture is the same: improvement - plato [acme] - drop. It is simply that human brains age, and do not improve with aging. Ditto for the muscles and bones.
I always liked Quayle and thought among conservatives he had a good reputation. You sound just like a democrat. Yours is the democrat opinion of him.
Agreed. It's disgraceful!
You are a very unkind person!
Well, I don't think so. Peggy used to be better. And Ann as well.
Dan is smart enough to see the difference, unlike some of the serial posters aroud here who always show up like clockwork to trash Romney.
