Giuliani Seen as More Likeable Candidate in U.S.

Republican Rudy Giuliani is the most appealing presidential contender in the United States, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 31 per cent of respondents say they will definitely vote for the former New York City mayor if he runs for president in 2008.

Democratic New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is a close second with 30 per cent, followed by Democratic Illinois senator Barack Obama with 28 per cent, Republican Arizona senator John McCain with 21 per cent, and Democratic former North Carolina senator John Edwards with 20 per cent.

When asked which candidate they would definitely not support in the 2008 presidential ballot, 46 per cent of respondents mention Rodham Clinton. Edwards is second on the list with 39 per cent, followed by Obama with 37 per cent, McCain with 34 per cent, and Giuliani with 28 per cent.

Here's their ideal candidate and potential first lady. Their definition of "conservatism" doesn't include any signs at all of "smaller government." Well, the fact that he's likable is the primary concern of those who hate him because voters like to vote for candidates they like and they're more likely to overlook the likable candidate's flaws.

Of course he only lead Hillary in likeability by 1 point, which is within the margin of error. But I agree, likeability is an importan asset. I think Reagan's likeability was off the chart.

I think the real news was how far back McCain was -- if people consider Hillary significantly more likeable than McCain, he is in real trouble.

Well, we probably are not going to agree on this point. You may not fully understand how afraid we are of Rudy. I don't believe anyone is trying to be adolescent. Playful maybe, persistent yes, forceful yes. People get their facts together and sometimes as you know that takes a lot of time and energy. It is a cut and paste world after all.

Speaking just for me, I can not see how any Conservative could support Rudy. I can not see why you can not see it. It is so obvious to me. So I post the same points over and over again because they have not been rebutted to my satisfaction. I guess that would seem like spam to someone like Dog Gone.

Oh no..I don't agree with that statement at all. I have Rudy people all the time tell me he is a social conservative. They will argue that he is. That is one reason I am on all of these threads. To show that he is not.

That brings us to the last point. The winning thing. I would rather lose than win with Rudy. There I said it. I think Rudy would destroy the Republican party. I like the quote AuntB posted from John Quincy Adams.

It isn't for me to decide which RINO candidates should not have news posted about them here on this forum. That's JR's decision to make. I'm simply saying that the majority of the conservatives on FR do not appreciate incessant posts here promoting RINO Rudy. While Jim does permit it and tolerate it, he certainly has made it clear, on more than one occasion, that he does not agree with those of you who are support a liberal candidate. It goes against everything that JR believes in and promotes here on FR as you can see from his own words.....

Pretty much as you do whenever a legitimate MSM article is posted here that is unfavorable towards your candidate. You only want this to work in your favor and not against it.
