Republican Rudy Giuliani is the most appealing presidential contender in the United States, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 31 per cent of respondents say they will definitely vote for the former New York City mayor if he runs for president in 2008.

Democratic New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is a close second with 30 per cent, followed by Democratic Illinois senator Barack Obama with 28 per cent, Republican Arizona senator John McCain with 21 per cent, and Democratic former North Carolina senator John Edwards with 20 per cent.

When asked which candidate they would definitely not support in the 2008 presidential ballot, 46 per cent of respondents mention Rodham Clinton. Edwards is second on the list with 39 per cent, followed by Obama with 37 per cent, McCain with 34 per cent, and Giuliani with 28 per cent.

Yes, I believe that is the going rate. Plus there's the bonus for addressing the bashers head on. Thanks for the slush fund tip, I'll have to call them on Monday for that.

Here's their ideal candidate and potential first lady. Their definition of "conservatism" doesn't include any signs at all of "smaller government." Just as the far lefties want to rule every part of your life and eliminate any bit of faith left in the country, the far righties want to rule every part of your life by the Bible as they interpret it.

"Are you that freaked out that there are conservatives who just don't agree with you?"

I don't recall ANY *conservatives* here who disagree with me. Most of us conservatives here are pretty much in agreement about the fact that RINO Rudy should not be nominated. Let me give you an example of one such conservative that represents the thinking of most conservatives here on FR......

Ping to post 47, where dmw was badmouthing you behind your back, without the customary courtesy ping to you.

Apparently dmw can't tell the difference between posting different new articles, about someone who IS news, vs. others posting the identical 30 year old spam on every thread.

Shh! You shouldn't post that here! We don't want them to know they're putting tens of thousands of dollars directly into our pockets! Keep it on the Q.T., okay?

Thank You dmw.....you really hit the nail on the head.

And rudy's position on abortion isn't the only issue that frightens me.

For example, a search of Google News using "Giuliani" produced 11,284 articles.

http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=giuliani&btnG=Search+News

Results 1 - 10 of about 11,284 for giuliani. (0.21 seconds)

I guess some people would like to classify legitimate news areticles, if it involves Giuliani, as "spam".

Well, the fact that he's likable is the primary concern of those who hate him because voters like to vote for candidates they like and they're more likely to overlook the likable candidate's flaws.

Of course he only lead Hillary in likeability by 1 point, which is within the margin of error. But I agree, likeability is an importan asset. I think Reagan's likeability was off the chart.

I think the real news was how far back McCain was -- if people consider Hillary significantly more likeable than McCain, he is in real trouble.

I think this Freeper Poll says it all -

http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/poll?poll=175;results=1

That the majority here do not see Rudy as a candidate that represents their views or values.

You rudybots can post till hell freezes over but if you think you will change hearts and minds here....I pray you hold your breath in anticipation.

"And it is obvious, I think, if you are spamming - you are not trying to discuss anything - just interject yourself or play the adolescent."

Well, we probably are not going to agree on this point. You may not fully understand how afraid we are of Rudy. I don't believe anyone is trying to be adolescent. Playful maybe, persistent yes, forceful yes. People get their facts together and sometimes as you know that takes a lot of time and energy. It is a cut and paste world after all.

Speaking just for me, I can not see how any Conservative could support Rudy. I can not see why you can not see it. It is so obvious to me. So I post the same points over and over again because they have not been rebutted to my satisfaction. I guess that would seem like spam to someone like Dog Gone.

"Everyone knows, hopefully, that Rudy is NOT a social conservative. LOL"

Oh no..I don't agree with that statement at all. I have Rudy people all the time tell me he is a social conservative. They will argue that he is. That is one reason I am on all of these threads. To show that he is not.

That brings us to the last point. The winning thing. I would rather lose than win with Rudy. There I said it. I think Rudy would destroy the Republican party. I like the quote AuntB posted from John Quincy Adams.

Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." --John Quincy Adams

That is exactly what I am going to do this time.

"What "RINO" candidates should not have any "positive" news developments posted about them? Do you have a list?"

It isn't for me to decide which RINO candidates should not have news posted about them here on this forum. That's JR's decision to make. I'm simply saying that the majority of the conservatives on FR do not appreciate incessant posts here promoting RINO Rudy. While Jim does permit it and tolerate it, he certainly has made it clear, on more than one occasion, that he does not agree with those of you who are support a liberal candidate. It goes against everything that JR believes in and promotes here on FR as you can see from his own words.....

Doncha get it?

When the Rudy-bots falsely and endlessly claim that Rudy is a "fiscal conservative", that isn't spam. Only posting facts refuting their claim is spam.

"I guess some people would like to classify legitimate news areticles, if it involves Giuliani, as "spam"."

Pretty much as you do whenever a legitimate MSM article is posted here that is unfavorable towards your candidate. You only want this to work in your favor and not against it. Typical liberal behavior. Why don't you all stop calling the anti-Rudy articles that are posted here spam, and maybe we can do the same for you? Nah, that works against you--not a good idea is it?
