This makes sense to me, but what do you think? Would it ease the fears of the more conservative to have Thompson as veep? Since Fred was a Senator from Tennessee it makes sense to have a Southener paired up with a New Yorker. Rudy has a higher profile and is already high in the polls so he makes more sense as the Presidential canidate.

Only if they were the Republican ticket.
I would far prefer a Romney/Hunter ticket.

I like Thompson, lets see how he plays out without Rudy and go from there.

Giuliani is still a deal breaker. Thompson is good but only as a number one.
The fact is you can't change the fact Rudy is an unappologetic liberal. And his aleged conservative staments are just lawyer parsing of words to spin people to hear conservative. (ie personal right vs individual right)

Not a chance. Although Mr. Gingrich is popular with conservatives, he has no appeal to moderates and is despised by the left. He has zero chance to become the POTUS.

Make Rudy head of Homeland Security
Good idea.
I would like to see Newt put in somewhere so as well and Ollie North. Once they are holding a position again, whatever "dirty laundry" the left claim they have will be a bit "softer". Ween em back in somewhere so we'll have them in the future.
Thompson/ Giuliani or Thompson/Rice

If he won, Giuliani would be the Liberal in Chief. And Thompson has the taint of Hollywood already on him.
