Boston, MA (LifeNews.com) -- A Massachusetts woman who went to Planned Parenthood hoping for a successful abortion of her twin babies has filed a lawsuit against the abortion business for botching the procedure. Jennifer Raper, who is 45, wants it to pay for the cost of raising her two children.
In the three-page lawsuit, Raper says she learned she was pregnant in March 2004 and decided to have an abortion because she couldn't afford to have children.
According to a Boston Globe report, Allison Bryant did the abortion on Raper at a Planned Parenthood facility but the complaint said it "was not done properly, causing the plaintiff to remain pregnant."
After the abortion, Raper saw Dr. Benjamin Eleonu at Boston Medical Center in July 2004 and he determined she was no longer pregnant.
However, by September 2004, Raper began experiencing pelvic pain and went to the New England Medical Center emergency room. There, medical officials determined the abortion was unsuccessful.
The woman eventually gave birth to her daughter on December 7.
The Boston Globe asked both Raper and her attorney, Barry Reed, Jr., to comment on the case and both declined. A Planned Parenthood representative told the newspaper the abortion business doesn't comment on pending litigation.
Raper filed her lawsuit last week in Suffolk Superior Court and she must be screened by a special panel before the suit can proceed.
The Massachusetts Supreme Court ruled in 1990 ruled that parents can sue doctors in wrongful birth cases but that the financial damages awarded in such cases must be limited to extraordinary medical experiences associated with physical or mental disabilities.
As it turns out it was barely more than my summary. It's a post from their "blog":
That the phrase "wrongful birth" exists and a mother would ever conceive of making a legal case out of wishing her kid was never born does always seem to me a clear sign the end is nigh and Judgment Day won't be merciful to our national soul.

Poor, poor kid.
The sad thing is, in MA, she just might win.

What a sad life for this little girl. She will probably find out. Find out mom didn't want her, sued to 'have to' raise her, and her sibling was apparently killed in the womb? What a burden for her to have to carry. How many of us would love and cherish another child in our lives?
Sickening. I would have given the world to be able to have another child in my 40's. To get pregnant at 45 would be a miracle for me (and probably many other women). Even if you didn't want to become pregnant, surely this last chance at motherhood would eventually be the most joyous thing. She should have given the baby, and herself, a chance.
Because, Darling, Mommy tried to have you killed before you were born and Planned Parenthood didn't kill you so now they have to pay me to keep you.
We're in the end times I believe. But it's a process, an unfolding over several centuries.
That the phrase "wrongful birth" exists and a mother would ever conceive of making a legal case out of wishing her kid was never born does always seem to me a clear sign the end is nigh and Judgment Day won't be merciful to our national soul. (Mercifully individuals may save themselves ... and take a few of the rest of us sinners along with them.)
I appreciate your finding that, jb! It's certainly a point that an entire LIBRARY could be built around, not just an article or blog summary. I was surprised to see it was KJL that wrote it. I'm not familiar with all of her work, but I don't remember seeing her discussing these kinds of stories.
If I may, I'd like to point out that Roe v. Wade made the accessibility of abortion a streamlined process. Sure, without it she may still have had access.
However, that legislation [of morality, which in itself is wrong] resulted in a moral pass for those who abort, only to discover that living with it is beyond what they could ever have imagined.
It's terrible. But I blame the SCOTUS as much as the poor women who feel that case 'vindicated' the act, because their souls will trouble them forever. They will find out too late that the government DOES NOT take care of them.
Another reason I defected from the left--the absolute ridiculous hypocrisy when it comes to abortion. Liberals twist language into pretzels before they will call a baby still in the womb a baby. I remember during the Laci Peterson case the NOW leadership was infuriated that Scott Peterson was charged with TWO murders because Laci was pregnant. Why? Because they were afraid that charging him with the baby's murder would somehow endanger Roe vs. Wade. Incredible.
attempted double murder!
Nope I was right, the linked article has corrected their headline.
There is something that is a little off in the dates. She should have given the child up for adoption.
Yes, sick and selfish.
"WRONGFUL BIRTH CASES" ????????????????????

That's the digg link to this story. Some interesting comments follow the story.
Oh sweet irony: Watch the Godless legal hyaenas implement the lawsuit tax on the "license to kill" industry. They frickin' deserve each other. Trust me on this one, the market will respond with fewer "providers," and the abortion business will atrophy.
