Idiotic. Disgusting. Stupid. Moronic.
I guess you could say that Ann loves to shock us, but at this point, whos shocked? She obviously cant behave well enough to attend a respectable political gathering. Its not a lack of intelligence. Its an indifference to self-control and a preening sort of narcissism that compels her to need the spotlight, even if its unflattering.
(For those of you who dont know what Im talking about, heres audio of her calling John Edwards a faggot at CPAC today.)

***4:15pm update***
Ann Coulter just finished her riff on Al Gore, tossed out some cute jokes ("You can understand why Hollywood is concerned about global warming. You know what heat does to plastic."), and ended with a cheap one-liner about John Edwards being a "faggot." (Paraphrasing) She said she would refrain from commenting on Edwards because "if you say faggot, you have to go to rehab."
A smattering of laughter.
Not from this corner.
Crickets chirping.

Ann Coulter is speaking at CPAC as I write. As is typical, she gave a brief speech full of her usual witticisms, including a few brilliant attacks on Al Gores green hypocrisy. All was good. Untill the last few seconds, when she launched into a joke about John Edwards.
Heres what she said.
Id say something about John Edwards, but if you say faggot you have to go to rehab.
Im no fan of John Edwards, but thats just a stupid joke. Its over the line. The laughter it generated across the room was more than a little annoying.
Last year it was raghead. This year its calling John Edwards a faggot. Two years in a row, Coulter has finished up an otherwise sharp CPAC routine with an obnoxious slur that liberals will fling at conservatives for years to come.
Thanks, Ann.

My comments... what should have been a day to celebrate a Reaganesque speech by Duncan Hunter, and good speeches by Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee was overshadowed by an unhinged comment by Ann Coulter. She is an absolute idiot for saying something like this at CPAC.
Well it is apparent they fantasize us buried like Cheney.
This was a speech before CPAC. You know she "thought it through" before saying it; she just doesn't care.
I'm not a big Ann Coulter fan but if a Dem backer would have said that about a Pubbie this would be a non-news item.
It's funny. I have heard Ann speak several times in person. And it is surprising, given the amount of controversy she generates, that her speeches tend to be very...boring.
Well said!
Yes, I suppose she did think it through, which validates the criticisms from the conservative pundits. She doesn't care about the trouble this presents for Romney or the GOP -- she only cares that she can, once again, make herself the eye of the storm.
Hey Ken. Be a man. Tell your neighbor to kiss your ass and walk away. Tell him you don't give a rat's ass about his opinion.
Well the lawyers' aspect does tend to weigh against him ...
I have never once claimed to be a "conservative" here on Free Republic...
I have no problem with Coulter's comments. In fact, I applaud them.
Political correctness is killing this country and it is time to get mean with some of these people.
We are in a war that is more than just bombs and bullets in some foreign land. It is here.
It is not going to be won by polite conversation with George Stephanopolous or Tim Russert on television because people like them are part of the problem.
"I love the old sexist practice of naming hurricanes after women." (Camille Paglia)
I like your screen name...
LOL, not at all. You see, some of us have come to the realization that party politics is not much different than sports fans. You have your team, they have their team. And in between the namecalling the issues are lost. Sure Coulter is good at riling up the left, just as some on the left are good at riling up the right. But in the midst of it, those of us that are limited government conservatives and could give a damn less about what programs are instituted by either party just sit back and laugh at the absolute inanity of it all.
BTTT!
Well, at least those of us in the reeducation camps will have good company.
Interesting how many here would be the guards...
And, unless you have evidence to the contrary, implying that the Joisey Goils' husbands were planning to divorce them is a lie. She never implied Edwards is gay nor a divorce was looming for the Jersey Girls.
What she said about the JGs was "And by the way, how do we know their husbands weren't planning to divorce these harpies?" That's not an implication of a looming divorce. That's questioning the justification that they needed so much more money than initially offered for their loss.
