Links to lifetime ACU rating do not work and I have tried unsuccessfully to search for Fred's.

Will do.
Fred Thompson will win the nomination if he gets in. I bet my compter on that.
Barring some unforseen scandal etc..

Sorry, but just because person A says, "I'm not stupid," it doesn't mean person B's reply effectively saying, "Yes, you are stupid" is NOT Personal Abuse.
Have I seen much, much worse? Sure. It's still juvenile and a rules violation I'm suprised to see so frequently.

"...it is his name recognition as an actor and his vibrant and sometimes forceful spirit while he served as a Senator that can bring the public to give him an honest look. There is nothing wrong with that. It's possible that the public already has a favorable opinion of him and would think he is trustworthy."
Exactly the appeal Ronald Reagan had...and which candidates like Gingrich will never enjoy.

Fred Thompson running for POTUS would be like a dream come true. He is the most grounded, sane and sensible man...even when I've disagreed with him, I've trusted and respected him. He is genuine.

I would think that coming up on 600 posts here that is a pretty damn good indicator.
If he runs, how about all of the Rudy-Bots out there that have been posting Rudy is the savior of the party?
Kind of sucks when a real conservative steps up to the plate and is willing to swing to the fence for PRINCIPLES. Not stroking the ball for base hits, STEALING bases and tipping his pitches to the LIBERALS.
We just may have a Babe Ruth here. Not a Bonds (Rudy) who has lied and has pumped-up his stat's at the same time winking at the audience.

He and Bush have that quality of being genuine, I think.
There are times when I have shook my head in amazement, wondering, "What is President Bush doing?" And yet, overall, I am not disappointed in Bush. Given the world we live in, he has governed extremely well. I'm grateful he is in office.
And I hope to learn that Thompson inspires the same thoughts of confidence for me, as I consider the primaries.

What did I tell you three weeks ago? It is before labor day and look how big a splash Fred has made in ninety minutes.
I mail a check Monday morning. Who has the address?

C'mon Howlin. I've read the whole thread until the point of this posting including the dialog between you and Spiff. His posting at on this thread does nothing but compliment your views on Thompson. You are being rather harsh, on him and I think it is undeserving.
Just an unbiased opinion from an occasional poster:)
