how soon before someone whips out the "fred thompson RINO deck of cards". or maybe Thompson, at one point in his life, wore a dress - and is therefore disqualified. was he ever divorced?

If a new poll goes up on FR, somebody should do some SERIOUS editing on the LOADED questions that have been asked lately.

Nobody I know of even votes in them anymore.

I was disappointed with the attitudes of the panel on Brit's show..

But, to read how some freepers are acting...I just want to pull my hair out.

Can't there be any thread that is "enjoyable" anymore??

I can see a difference of opinion....I have different opinions on some things as other freepers...but I don't go on every THREAD to announce my "feelings"!!

This is going to be a "celebrity election." Who does best on TV will be the choice. Thompson did absolutely nothing in the Senate; therefore, he makes a good celebrity.

Oh, I'm sure they'll come up with something to twist and make sound a lot worse than it is.

Here are some quick links and ratings of Thompson during his Senate tenure:

National Taxpayers Union>Lifetime A (... seven grades of "A" and one of "B+")

American Conservative Union: Lifetime 86 (out of 100)

Americans for [Liberal] Democratic Action: 10% of 100 in 2002

Overall, pretty solid.

You're primarily despised here.

Don't include me in that.

Dear B Knotts,

I agree with you. I'm not sure, I might only agree perhaps around 75% - 80%, but that works real good as opposed to Mr. Giuliani, where perhaps I agree on the most important issues with him 20% of the time.

I always liked Sen. Thompson.

Campion makes a good point about his executive experience, but the same can be said about Rep. Hunter, and I'd enthusiastically vote for him.

Anyway, I really hope Sen. Thompson enters the race.

Hey! Fred Thompson and Tommy Thompson could run together as "The Thompson Twins". :) Obscure 80's pop music reference aside...

Understood.

I just think that McCain gets a bad wrap for CFR. Yeah he wrote the law but a whole lot of Republicans voted for it.

And our president signed it.

They are all to blame. Not just McCain.

Why did he get out of politics? What is his age? what about his health? Of what I remember about him, I really like this guy. We need a real conservative who can connect with us, and the less informed that have not yet realized that they have a political bent. Fred could be that guy.
