Well, he's certainly been asked to stop enough, but just keeps right on doing it.

I'm not going to forget, and neither are a lot of other people; do you realize how many people they have run off, not that anybody here cares?

So what's your plan? Run them off instead? Badger them in perpetuity, even when they agree with you?

I keep hearing people worry about the future of this forum, yet when provided an opportunity to offer an olive branch I see a group of people refusing to do so.

I appreciate your efforts here. I'd call Sen. Thompson more of a moderate conservative than a moderate. I believe that he doesn't believe that abortion is a constitutional right, he's against the homosexual agenda, I believe he's strong on gun rights. It's tough to put him in the moderate category with those bona fides. However, I haven't examined his record or prior statements all that closely yet. Maybe he is more of a moderate than a moderate conservative. In any event, my initial impression is that he's a darned sight better candidate for a CONSERVATIVE party than Mr. Giuliani. If you have good quotes from him, or other specific issue-related material, I'd personally appreciate a ping if you post it.

I agree with you. Someone posted his ACU and NTU ratings and they look good - more conservative than moderate. Someone else posted a link to his voting record on immigration and he leans a little conservative there too. It looks like he is, as you describe, more of a moderate conservative than a moderate. If he decided to run, he wouldn't be in the staunchly conservative side of the pack but he will definitely be well out of the liberal side of the pack where Giuliani and Romney hang.

I love this guy. Good man, good values, good name recognition. Heck, half the population would vote for him because he's a great NY distict attorney and a friend of the late Lenny Brusco.

An added benefit with President Thompson is the cool Law & Order "da da da" could be played whenever he walked into a room.

He's already shaking things up with just the possibility of running. I haven't seen this much excitement about the possible 2008 GOP Presidential candidate at any point in the last year.

The Fox panel Barnes, Kondracke and Krauthammer were almost dismissive almost elitist with the news. I think they're full of crap! Thompson will change the dynamic of the race in a really BIG way.

I'm getting my checkbook ready.

I was just thinking the same thing. Maybe I'll hold out until
it's in writing. "Regardless" no other candidate so far has inspired me.

Hey, this guy could raise money well, too! He has a bit of time to decide. Maybe he is testing the water with the Fox announcement. This seems like a Godsend to me if he really gets in.

I didn't post the bleeping spam

Spam? I saw at least 10 posts asking about Thompson's views on various positions (I posted one myself). I found the information to be helpful.

Ask yourself: If anyone else had posted the same thing, would you be reacting like this?
